Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing WalletWallet.dev.
  1. What makes WalletWallet.dev unique?

You don't need an Apple Developer account. We sign passes with our own certificate, so you can ship a pass in your first hour instead of waiting a week for Apple to verify your developer account. The price is flat at $19/month with no per-pass tiers.

  2. Why should a person choose WalletWallet.dev over its competitors?

Three reasons. Price is flat at $19/month, while the alternatives are usage-priced and get expensive once you cross a few thousand passes. You don't need an Apple Developer account because we sign with our certificate. The API is a single POST with a small JSON payload, so the first call takes about five minutes.

  3. How would you describe the primary audience of WalletWallet.dev?

Solo developers and small teams adding wallet passes as a feature in their product. Typical use cases are loyalty cards for cafรฉs and shops, event tickets for societies and conferences, membership and ID cards for clubs and nonprofits, and digital business cards.

  4. What's the story behind WalletWallet.dev?

I needed a few Apple Wallet passes for a side project and hit the Apple Developer wall: $99 a year and a multi-step certificate setup before you can sign anything. The existing API providers all required you to bring your own developer account, so they saved you the code but not the setup. WalletWallet started as the tool I wanted: call one endpoint, get a signed pass back, no certificate work at all.

  5. Which are the primary technologies used for building WalletWallet.dev?

Hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Sub-200ms pass generation worldwide.

  6. Who are some of the biggest customers of WalletWallet.dev?

We don't publish customer names without their permission. The active base is small teams across these segments: - Cafรฉs and small retailers running loyalty programs - Student societies and conferences issuing event tickets - Agencies building white-label loyalty for their clients - Indie developers shipping a member or ID card inside their own product
