Then it's just about auditioning. There are paid sites where you pay a yearly fee to use like voices.com and there's free sites like castingcallclub.com that will regularly post jobs you can audition for. Some of them are unpaid and are largely for fun (like anime fandubs and stuff) and some are actual paid projects. Source: over 1 year ago
I have started noticing over the last 12 months that auditions at voices.com (I am privately invited to them) used to require a sample of your voice, then changed to have you recording a small script to now having to provide a recording of a "full script". In some auditions, it's said "only full script recordings will be considered as our client doesn't have time to review samples.". Source: over 1 year ago
I found some work as an actor as a teenager, and joined the union due to a minor speaking role in a film. At the time I didn't know better, and thought it would put me further along. I took a few years off and now want to get into voiceover (and maybe screen and stage) work. However, with no credits for the past 5-6 years, I am worried I shot myself in the foot by joining the union. My voice and look is much... Source: over 1 year ago
I am new to the voiceover industry. I have been doing a podcast for over a year, and thought I would try to get into the voiceover game since I have the equipment. I took a course on doing voiceovers and had two professional demos recorded. I am starting to search out jobs and I am coming across sites like voices.com, voices123.com, backstage.com, allcasting.com, etc.... My question is if any of these sites are... Given the information about him and Henry in the novels, his physical description, his children's ages at the time, as well as PJ Heywood's role on voices.com, he should be born between 1939-1951; likely in the 1940's, which puts him at mid 30's to mid 40's when he kills the five missing children, and early 70's to 80's in FNAF 3; 40's to 55 when he got springlocked. Me: semi-pro producer who uses multiple VO artists for jobs. I've been on upwork, voices.com, voices123, and a few others. I'll get something 1/50 job postings. Good luck. Source: over 1 year ago
With the more 'intimate moments' in the demos give yourself a little breathing room, it feels very rushed (I noticed the :60 time marker, but you can have more than one demo that hit the :90 mark, look at voices.com for inspiration) you can allow more than 785 ms to break the space between words. Back when I was doing it, it was voice123.com and voices.com. I know, it has been a minute! Lol. Source: almost 2 years ago
I am a sound engineer and hire/record voice actors a lot. I used voices.com a few years ago, and I was able to find a non-union actor for fairly cheap. It was for a French commercial that needed a native speaker, and their selection was solid, and the actors had their own professional equipment to record at home. I assume the English options are even wider. Not affiliated with them at all and haven't used them in... Source: almost 2 years ago
I am a SAG-AFTRA actor looking to get into voiceover work, but most of it appears to be non-union. I would love to have access to voices.com's resources, but I don't want to spend $500 for a bunch of jobs (non-union) I can't take. Advice? Source: almost 2 years ago
Anyways, I want to take voice acting very seriously (I've invested over $1000 in gear and have a voices.com membership from the black friday deal). I'm still young, 18, fast learner, in uni doing engineering, and I know there's a long way to go for both of my careers. I know my weaknesses, which are needing to enunciate better and become less nervous in front of the mic (not acting, though, since I was told I was... Source: almost 2 years ago
