  • Rv Ideas
If you want to play media files you already have, then that's a different story. When I started driving, my TV could play x264 .mp4 video files off of a USB memory stick, and that's what I used. From there, I went to a Raspberry Pi playing the files with VLC (videolan.org). Now, I have a Plex server at home, and I download the shows when I have decent Internet to watch on the nights I don't. So it should be fine to use as long as you get it from a good source, VLC's website(videolan.org) or the Microsoft store(on Windows). The attack that was facilitated through VLC could have been used on any program really, VLC is just popular and well known, so it's more reliable to choose as a target. Source: over 3 years ago
  • On Windows 11, is it better to install VLC as an app from the Microsoft store, or install it as a program in Windows?
Looking outside the store isn't automatically a solution to that, VLC itself has this problem, since you go to videolan.org not vlc.com or .org or anything that says "VLC" in it to get it. So presumably your regular user would do the same thing they'd do in a store- they'd type "VLC" into search, and the end result would be the same- they'd get the thing they are actually looking for. • On Windows 11, is it better to install VLC as an app from the Microsoft store, or install it as a program in Windows?
Since VideoLAN is publishing it themselves, there shouldn't be any differences. You have all the problems of any app store of course, fakes and such, so you want to make sure you are getting the one from VideoLAN. Then again, that's not really a problem introduced by being in an app store either, just a different version of the same issue. VLC is a good example of that, since you go to videolan.org to get it, not... Source: over 3 years ago

  • My MacBook Pro has trouble playing videos. Iโ€™ve noticed MP4 thatโ€™s been recorded from my drone has the most severe stutter as well as from my phone. I have a 2016 Touch Bar MacBook Pro 13โ€ 3.3ghz Dual Core i7 intel iris graphics 550 1536MB. Itโ€™s basically unusable to watch videos Iโ€™ve recorded.
Try VLC. I had the same stuttering/lagging with videos recorded on both my phone and camera proper, and I tried transcoding, recoding. compressing, uncompressing, and just put it down to some funkiness with quicktime in the OS. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Trying to download photos & videos from iPhone to Windows 10
You could install VLC media player from https://videolan.org which has HEVC built-in or you can get an OEM version of the HEVC extensions pack for free by entering ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhq on your web browser which will take you to the Microsoft Store. • Videos from phone are not playing on my laptop
The videos are probably in H265 (ie HEVC) format. You can use a program like VLC Media Player to play them back. It's free and open source. Grab the official program from videolan.org. Alternatively, you can get the HEVC Video Extension from the Microsoft Store (make sure it's the one sold by Microsoft Corporation), which will let the default Video app and any other programs that use the built-in media system... • Virus Total false positive?
Hello, I'm curious if this is a false positive, by the looks of it, it is, but then in the comments someone said that 3 years ago this site (videolan.org) had a problem with trojans, and a trojan is what is getting flagged in the virus total scan, so could it be a false positive? • I hate the screen.
I've been a radio DJ. I own a massive collection of digital music, much of it obscure, that I'm not going to pay rent to any service to hear. I control what I listen to. I've used VLC media player for years. It's a free mature well maintained lightweight app that works on any phone. Having that, or anything remotely usable, would solve the music issue. To me it's a glaring design mistake for a car of this caliber... Source: over 4 years ago
