Urlicer shortens long URLs into short links on a shared domain or on a custom domain you own, and generates a QR code for every link.
Clicks are tracked in real time with country, device, browser and referrer breakdowns, saved filter views and CSV export. Links can carry a custom alias, an expiry date or a password, and can be created in bulk by pasting a list or importing a CSV.
Paid plans add geo and device targeting, A/B rotation across multiple destinations, QR code branding with a logo and custom colours, and a workspace audit log. Team workspaces with roles and invitations are included from the entry paid plan.
A REST API with bearer tokens is available on every tier, including the free one, with per-plan rate limits. Analytics are cookieless and EU-hosted, so no cookie consent banner is required.

Three things most shorteners don't do. Team workspaces with roles start at the entry paid plan rather than an enterprise contract. QR codes are unmetered on every plan, including the free one, with colours, shapes, logos and frames. And analytics are cookieless and EU-hosted, so sites using Urlicer links don't need a cookie consent banner for them. The REST API is on every tier too, free included — same credential, no sandbox.
If more than one person touches your links, the maths is straightforward: Bitly has no multi-user plan below its enterprise tier, and T.LY sells no seats until $50/month. Urlicer includes 10 seats at $29. Below that, Pro at $12 gives 3 seats, two custom domains, 1,000 links a month and full geo and device analytics — where the comparable branded-domain tiers run $23–39. And the free plan is a real one: 50 links a month with unlimited QR codes and the same analytics, not a teaser.
Small marketing teams, agencies and solo operators who run campaigns across several channels and need to know what actually got clicked — plus developers who want links created programmatically. It suits people who care where their data is processed, and anyone printing QR codes on physical material. It is deliberately not built for enterprise procurement.
Urlicer is built and run by one developer, on a PHP stack he also wrote — the Viewi frontend framework and the async Swoole backend behind it. It began as the real-world application that would prove the stack under load, and turned into a product once the pieces most shorteners get wrong — a redirect path that stays fast, click analytics that don't need cookies, and QR codes good enough to print — were solved properly. It launched publicly in 2026.
PHP 8 on Swoole for the async HTTP layer, with Viewi (PHP transpiled to JavaScript, server-side rendered and hydrated) for the frontend. PostgreSQL for application data, ClickHouse for click events, and Redis on the redirect path — a redirect is a single Redis lookup, never a database query. Custom domains terminate TLS per-SNI through OpenResty with certificates served from Redis. Everything is self-hosted in the EU.

It is based on a 100-point logarithmic scale, with higher scores corresponding to a greater likelihood of ranking. This is another useful metric to check if a website is good.
