Every shortener fell into one of two camps: cheap tools on a single server that 404 every link the moment their origin goes down, or enterprise platforms charging $30+/month for custom-domain branding while pushing "see exactly who clicked" as a feature. We wanted a shortener we'd actually trust with a production redirect — one where links survive outages, custom domains are affordable, and analytics respect the people doing the clicking.
