I teach writing and one of the things that I started doing was requiring final drafts to be typed (since all students have access to laptops at school, I just give them tons of time to work in class and during my study hall.) They're VERY much hunt and peck typers, so I set them up on typing.com and that's been helping. Because of how now STAAR is online only and requires short answer and constructed response,... Do you remember all the letters on the keyboard? If not, do more learning on websites like typing.com. If yes, practice on sites like typeracer. Make sure you're getting 97% accuracy. Source: 5 months ago
So recently I've been trying to learn touch typing on typing.com using the home row rules. However, I always find that I hit the Y key with both my left and right index finger depending on the word, and I hit the B key with my right index finger 90% of the time. Apparently the correct way to do it is always use the right index for Y and the left index for B. Source: 8 months ago
Did you learn proper typing technique (or something very close to it) by going to typing.com or typingclub.com or some similar website and working through all the various lessons and exercises until you could type without looking at the keyboard? Source: 10 months ago
If you can type the pangram the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog without looking at your keyboard, then you know where all 26 letters of the alphabet are on the Dvorak layout. That means that you no longer have any need for the beginner websites such as typing.com or typingclub.com or ratatype.com and can instead move onto the second of the two phases of learning to type. The second phase is one that... Source: 10 months ago
You should absolutely continue learning 10 finger typing on typingstudy.com typing.com typingclub.com or keybr.com or whatever site you're using. Being slow and inaccurate is a temporary state that you go through whilst you're learning, yet everyone who asks the same question as you have phrases it in a way that makes it sound like it's a permanent state that they will never get out of i.e. Their destined to stay... Step 1: the basics. Unfortunately, for this, I couldn't find a nice Mac app, and I used typing.com. Source: 10 months ago
Just took a look at typing.com, I'd say instead of focusing on mastering the key exercises, get to typing actual words and sentences. I found that much better to developing the right muscle memory. You just get used to the way language flows. Source: 10 months ago
A few years ago, I got it in my head that I wanted to learn how to type properly, so I started using typing.com, and I've actually progressed pretty far on there. I have continued to move back and forth between two finger and five finger typing though, because I have so much I need to get done for work that I can't sacrifice the speed right now. Not a really highly technical thing but , learning to touch type , at a free site like typing.com might give you an advantage at some remote work jobs. Not a lot but think of it like if all else being equal if you can go faster and/or more accurate , you might have a advantage over someone else. Typing.com really helps, when you get used to it, you can be aesthetic enough and use monkeytype.com. Source: 10 months ago

I'm currently using one called typing.com and it's good but I'm wondering if there are any particular websites that experience typists would recommend. TIA. Source: 11 months ago
Yeah. But similar to typing.com, this tool doesn't know if the right fingers are used for the right keys. This is the pain point my product trying to solve. Source: 11 months ago
I actually used websites like typing.com & typeclub.com and did their dvorak classes. (it reminded me of typing/computer class during the mid 2000's, tbh.) I will admit I never learned how to touch type w/ qwerty but after about 2 years I pretty much only use dvorak. Source: 11 months ago
Having the same issue my friend. I am determined not to make it consequential. Try typing.com for 30 mins each day.....I understand, trust me. It is hard to explain to others who are one with the board. Don't give up!! Source: 11 months ago
We used typing.com this year, now going forward we need to increase speed... Source: 11 months ago
There are sites like typing.com, typingclub.com, ratatype.com, typingstudy.com and keybr.com which are all designed to help people learn to touch type. Their purpose is to take someone who has to look down at the keyboard and "hunt and peck" at the keys in order to type, and get them to the point where they don't need to look at the keyboard at all when they type. I'd look at NoThisIsJohn's Dvorak tutorial as well as use typing.com or typingclub.com to learn how to touch type. Once you can touch type and type at around 40-50 WPM consistently, I'd switch to TypeRacer, NitroType, MonkeyType or any other typing website of your preference to practice typing (and make sure to practice some quotes if you do use a website like Monkeytype).
