You can get free versions of A&A from Triple A. It's user made stuff and doesn't have the polish like 1942 online has though it has a small and dedicated community. Otherwise I'd suggest just spending the money and getting the 1942 online version from steam or mobile. It's run by a small team of very friendly developers.
