  • Recover lost text by coredumping Firefox
You can achieve this with native messaging [0] in tridactyl [1]: https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl/blob/850acdf2ca11018ed3c2fc7a8ae157d77f50bc17/src/excmds.ts#L321. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Firefox has surpassed Chrome on Speedometer
As a pentadactly widow, I would recommend to anyone that is coming back to firefox tridactyl https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl is it the same? no. But is it close? Hell yeah. It really helps me with productivity! - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Firefox Address Bar Tips
Wait until you find out about Tridactyl [0], which, among a plethora of other features, can activate a command line where you can perform all these searches (for example, `:tabopen` will list and activate fuzzy search of all opened tabs). • Mice come in all shapes and sizes, making it difficult to decide which is right for you 🖱️
You might be interested in using a browser plugin like Tridactyl instead, I’ve been using it for months now absolutely no complaints, no need to “simulate” the mouse anymore just use page hints to click exactly the html element you want to https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl. • How to mock builtin function?
Nearly everything on reddit uses reddit-flavored markdown. Backticks for Inline code, as you discovered, but indent code blocks with four spaces. I Use a browser extension so that I can edit all my comments in Vim, so manipulating this markup, especially Code blocks, is easy. Source: 11 months ago
  • How to remap built-in keybindings like `C-n` and `C-w`?
I use tridactyl but the limitation of firefox API prevents addon to even change the built-in shortcuts: https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl/issues/1428. Source: 11 months ago
  • Nyxt: The Hacker's Browser
There are always going to be limitations to extension-based approaches but Firefox with tridactyl is most of the way there capability-wise IMO (https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl). I use that plus tree-style tabs and find it excellent. There's always some extensibility limitations that break the integration though, like extensions getting disabled on mozilla... - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
  • Search the Screen using hints
I have been using flow launcher for 2 years and last month I tried Fluent Search where it had the option of searching screen using hints [ like vimium and Tridactyl but for every screen]. I have dug deep into the settings and plugins of FL but didn't find anything similar, Fluent also has search the current process, which I guess would be enough for me. So is there something like this in FL? Thanks in advance! Source: 12 months ago
  • VIM Browser
Check out Tridactyl, in my opinion the most featureful extension of this sort. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Leap.nvim for the browser
Tridactyl is great if you are using firefox. Source: over 1 year ago
  • My first build - TPS42, running miryoku
My paintor has 42 keys, but the outer column became vestigial when I started using miryoku. Also, the mouse emulation wasn't much fun to use compared to a trackpoint. I'm on a mac, so even with browser extensions like Tridactyl, OS features require me to be using a mouse quite a bit. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Programs that saved you 100 hours? (2022 edition)
There's also Tridactyl, which is a similar project, but more customizable. https://github.com/tridactyl/tridactyl. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Happy 9th birthday, qutebrowser!
It initially was focused on dwb "refugees", and much of that is still visible today: The look of the UI, almost all keybindings, the split between book- and quickmarks (probably a bad idea), the idea of having external userscripts (probably a bad name), etc. etc. In other areas, qutebrowser most likely had a pioneering role: As far as I know, it was the first vim-like browser to introduce a more shell-like command... • Love thy Mouse 🐭
I also found a nice Firefox extension called tridactyl that provides easymotion and vim bindings. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • I got fired yesterday for using vim
It took me years to learn vim, I did it because it gives me speed, less mental overhead, it opens and closes rapidly and things that I apply in vim can be applied elsewhere, I use Tridactyl to browse for example. Source: over 1 year ago
  • It's happening! Emacs is being absorbed into my being
There is tridactyl with emacs bindings. It is far from perfect, but it brings some resemblance of Emacs hotkeys in Firefox. Source: over 1 year ago
  • TIL you can use J and K to move up and down in posts/comments on desktop reddit
Install Tridactyl because it's even better! Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Tell me your experience about multi monitor setup in Linux!
Tridactyl is a lot better for a vim-like browser. Vimium just has keybindings for browsing, but it doesn't give you the ability to press colon and type commands there, like with qutebrowser. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Remove suggestions box from under urlbar completely?
To be completely clear: when I focus the urlbar I want nothing to appear under it. I'm using Tridactyl so I don't need the suggestions and I find them aesthetically unpleasant. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • QoL issue with Vimium
Here is the link for anyone else interested. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Why Vim feels so satisfying
Tridactyl however, is kinda uh, on a whole different level. I think you'll understand once you check out their GitHub page. Source: about 2 years ago
