Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Transit and what they use it for.
  • Is the L system considered accessible for colorblind people?
For somebody new to the system I would also recommend something like the Transit App, which you can put your whole trip into ahead of time and will give you literal step by step directions to and within stations, including voice prompts if you want. I don't need it in Chicago but I often use it in other cities where I don't know how to navigate things. Source: 9 months ago
  • Public transportation
If you don’t mind being on a bus for almost an hour and a half, then sure you can get on the 212 bus. Download the Transit app for accurate schedules and arrivals. Source: 9 months ago
  • How many trains are on the Expo line at once?
Take a look at the Transit app. Right now I see 5 westbound and 6 eastbound between SM and DTLA. Source: 9 months ago
  • buses are a fucking joke and im done taking them
Sure. My app is Simple MBTA App for Android. This is how I show cancelled trips. Transit is the officially endorsed MBTA app, and I think they do a pretty good job. Source: 9 months ago
  • App request: bus tracking using MAC ids
I've started using https://transitapp.com/. It works in Dublin and uses crowdsourcing for exactly this. It uses other app users' location to track buses better than the "real time" info. Source: 10 months ago
  • Visiting Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden without a car
Final transit tip is that Google Maps is good for figuring out routes but DEAD WRONG when it comes to arrival times, aka when buses actually get to stops, if they're running early/late, etc. I use the Transit app on a daily basis and it's a lot more accurate (can be off by a couple minutes, but it pulls the GTFS data straight from TheBus website, plus uses real-time data from other concurrent users). The true #1... Source: 10 months ago
  • A reminder that MetroHero shuts down tomorrow. RIP to the best app for navigating Metrorail
Just a bump for https://transitapp.com/ as a possible alternative for folks. I use it daily (it's actually better for people who use buses or bus-to-train routes). Source: 10 months ago
  • How to get free tap/metro pass
I recommend downloading the Transit app, looking at USC, and checking out all of the different transit options available nearby. Source: 10 months ago
  • Public transit to/in Philly?
The transit app works so well! Gives real time updates on schedule changes and stuff! I actually had a bus driver recommended it! Source: 10 months ago
  • AMA - Virtual Town Hall with mayoral candidate Freddie O'Connell - Happening NOW (June 23 2-3PM CST)
I think QuickTicket is a big step forward for fares, but I will admit that it's not a great user experience as an app. I don't personally mind having an app or a card, but it's not seamless to do your trip planning in one place (like Transit) and your fares in another. Source: 10 months ago
  • First time visitor question
Https://transitapp.com/ available on both google and android and works all over the world. Source: 10 months ago
  • Is it normal that the 401 bus skips some arrival schedules during weekends?
Try the Transit App for location tracking and times. Source: 10 months ago
  • How does this help? 3 busses, each 2 minutes apart.
Related, I highly recommend the Transit App for reliable bus/train tracking and it works for over 300 cities world wide so it can be helpful when traveling! Source: 10 months ago
  • New Bus Routes Today
Plug for the Transit app for route planning and tracking. Google Maps should generally work well too. BusRadar, sadly, is finally dead. And finally, there are lot of Ride Guides in yellow vests out there -- talk to them and ask for advice. The ones I have encountered are very knowledgeable and may be able to provide info beyond what Transit and Google Maps can do. Source: 10 months ago
  • Monrovia to Union
Transit app is pretty decent and Metro has a trip planner that will show you the path on Google Maps. Source: 10 months ago
  • Airport parking
The bus is by far the best option, I’ve done it multiple times and is super quick and easy. My suggestion: download the Transit app, where you can view the route and even purchase a ticket ($10.50) ahead of time. It includes live tracking which I’ve found does a better job than other navigation apps. AB1 Schedule. Source: 11 months ago
  • Sunday bus schedule!
Sunday buses start at 8am. The first buses from River/Lansdowne are at 0820 NB to Trent and 0839 WB to Fleming. All schedules are posted on the City’s website and you can use the Transit app or Google Maps to plan your trip (they also have real time tracking now to know when the bus will come). • First year life hacks/must-knows
An app I found helpful for buses and found it to be quite accurate in terms of timing was the transit app(https://transitapp.com). Source: 11 months ago
  • How to get around LA and going from/to Irvine/Newport Beach
Google maps is not the greatest for directions between OC and LA; they've partnered with Flix Bus/Greyhound and will direct you to ride one of those buses instead of the public transit system. Bing Maps or an app like Transit or Moovit ate more honest about your options. Source: 11 months ago
  • #10 Bus
Transit is an unofficial app that works in a lot of cities around the world. I really like it, I find it to be a lot more reliable and user friendly than google maps. Source: 11 months ago
  • Any way to get notifications about subway delays/no more trains?
Are you referring to transitapp.com? Source: 11 months ago
