Hi all- in seeing some posts about pets being stolen/lost, I highly recommend getting a pet tracker that fits on your collar. For ~$5-10/month, for your peace of mind, it is absolutely worth it. We have a tractive collar on our dog, and there are other options out there too. Oh yes of course! It's called Tractive. https://tractive.com/ So... According to their website the battery only lasts 7 days, but for me it has lasted up to 13 days. Also, for this tracker to be charged so infrequently it needs to be connected to wifi, it goes into power saving mode in the wifi zone. Just a heads up about that. Source: about 4 years ago

There are pet trackers that can do the same thing more accurately with an LTE and GPS connection. This one for example can give real time location updates, can last for multiple days on a charge, and gives location history over the last 24 hours. Livestock don't use internet? That's changing. They're able to use cell towers and gps to "virtual fence" cattle with what are rapidly more affordable collar mounted units. And in my case, I can log on to tractive.com from any internet connection and precisely track my dog's collar-attached rechargeable unit. And right now my internet is with Starlink.
