I had ideas to build an app, and made few 2 years ago or so. Indeed these technologies are great to start with. I would suggest going with Kodular.io or thunkable.com instead of appinventor. There are many pros of using these, cuz I've personally used them to build stuff I can say go with either of the two. They are completely free to start with. Source: almost 5 years ago
For the app maybe you could use something like https://thunkable.com/. Perhaps you could try something like https://firebase.google.com/ for the backend not sure if it is to technical, not used either of the tools myself. Source: almost 5 years ago
Thanks, but it look so expensive. For mobile app, I still evaluating thunkable.com and adalo.com. Source: almost 5 years ago
Since you've already evaluated 3, I would highly recommend you take a look at thunkable.com as an option too. What you need is much easier to build too. Source: about 5 years ago
Thunkable has emerged as a prominent mobile application development platform within the increasingly competitive landscape of no-code development tools. Aimed primarily at users without extensive coding expertise, Thunkable has carved out a niche by offering a drag-and-drop interface that facilitates the creation of native mobile applications for both Android and iOS. This accessibility has made it particularly attractive for educational use, prototyping, and the development of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
Across various articles and product mentions, Thunkable is consistently portrayed as a powerful and user-friendly platform that balances simplicity with capabilities for more seasoned developers. Its drag-and-drop functionality, initially inspired by its creators who were associated with MIT's App Inventor, positions Thunkable as both a stepping stone for beginners and a tool robust enough for more ambitious app projects. Importantly, the platform also addresses one of the biggest hurdles for new users by offering a wide range of video tutorials, a feature that resonates well with its community.
Despite its accessibility and features, reviews also highlight certain limitations, particularly in its free version. Users are restricted to a limited number of app downloads and face constraints like storage limits and public project settings, where anyone can access the projects. Advanced features such as Ad integration, in-app purchases, and professional branding are reserved for Pro subscriptions. These limitations suggest that while Thunkable provides an excellent starting point, users looking to fully leverage the platform's potential, particularly in monetizing apps, may need to invest in premium plans.
In comparison to its competitors like Bubble.io, Flutterflow, and Adalo, Thunkable is often highlighted for its simplicity and quick learning curve, albeit with some initial challenges for new users. Its aesthetic appeal and speed in app development are noted, but it lacks some advanced options available in other platforms. This is particularly relevant for developers seeking specific features not inherently supported by Thunkable.
One of Thunkable's strongest suits lies in its community and support framework. The platform boasts an active and engaged community, complemented by live chat support, which is instrumental in reducing the learning curve for new users. This community focus is crucial for a platform poised as an educational tool and for prototyping at scale.
In summary, Thunkable stands out as a commendable no-code app development tool, ideal for users with limited technical background aiming to create mobile applications swiftly. Its strong community, ease of use, and educational resources effectively bridge the gap between novice development experiences and professional-grade app creation. However, potential users must weigh its free version's constraints against their project requirements, particularly if considering advanced monetization features. Overall, Thunkable remains a compelling choice in the realm of no-code app building, encouraging innovation from a diverse user base.
