Thrive Tab turns your new tab page into a board of the sites you actually use, arranged in lists you name yourself.

The part that makes it different is the global keyboard shortcut. Press it from any application, not just from Chrome, type two or three letters, and the site opens. You do not switch to the browser, find the right window, open a tab and start typing a URL you half remember. The search only covers sites you deliberately added, which is why two or three letters are enough to find anything.

You can save the page you are on in one click, or drop every open tab into a list at once (and relaunch them when needed). Great for keeping your tab count down. Notes and tasks sit next to the links they belong to and turn up in the same search.

You can also give sites that you open often direct keyboard shortcuts, to launch them immediately. Press it and your calendar opens. Press it and you are in your inbox, your YouTube Watch Later, your bank, your timesheet. It doesn't matter what you were doing or what app you were in. Any list can be shared as a public link. The person you send it to does not need the extension to read it, and if they install it, that list joins their board and stays current, so when you add something they get it.
