  • Why us there no browser support for Threads?
That is a MAJOR drawback. Maybe it will come with time. But the domain is threads.net. threads.com belongs to a completely different app. That is going to be a head-scratcher for sure. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Welcome to the alternative reality where Elon personally created Twitter
If there is anyone to feel bad for in this situation it's the folks that own threads.com and have been working on their Slack / Discord alternative whatever. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Suspended Twitter account tracking Elon Muskโ€™s jet moves to Threads
There is an app called Threads, described as a 'slack repacement designed for makers', which owns https://threads.com . They have had to put a big badge saying 'We are not associated with Instagram' on their home page, but.. I bet they're getting a lot of unexpected new business this week. Source: about 3 years ago

  • I was anxious to see what Threads had to offer. Ho Hum.
We all know Twitter has serious issues. I don't expect it to survive. I don't think Threads is the answer (at least not yet). There are privacy concerns. There is no usable web site (and the domain threads.com belongs to a completely different chat application). It is tied into Meta's other platforms. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Meta will nuke your Instagram account if you delete Threads profile
There's not even a web version, they picked a very common name that already has a similar product using it, with the threads.com domain. And it's own app called Threads. I smell a lawsuit coming. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Threads passes 2M sign ups in the first 2 hours
Looks nice! No website means I won't use it though, I need my casual pop-ins from my computer. Unrelated: Poor bastards: https://threads.com/ Overnight eclipsed. I think they'll rebrand, like Clubhouse rebranded to Shortcut because of the Clubhouse voicechat app rise in popularity. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
  • Will Meta Threads have a web site?
Threads.com appears to belong to some kind of group collaboration software. Ironically, they have a link to their twitter handle on their page lol. But I bet it does cause confusion for some. Because it looks like a chat type app. That is definitely an unforeseen hurdle for the Meta thing. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Zuck did it again; chose a trademarked name with an existing product & website! Calls on whoever owns threads.com!
Interesting Sequoia Capital is the series A backer for threads.com and sequoia was one of the big winners in the sale of whatsApp to facebook/meta. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Zuck did it again; chose a trademarked name with an existing product & website! Calls on whoever owns threads.com!
TBH Instagram had a standalone chat app named Threads back in 2019 which they shut down in 2021. Which BTW existed before threads.com. Source: about 3 years ago

  • Threads, an Instagram App
Not to mention this new Slack competitor: https://threads.com. If Instagram Threads takes off I fully expect this app will be forced to change its name by Meta. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
  • Threads.net
Anyone from the https://threads.com team around? This must be at least annoying. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
  • Is it possible to generate a link that automatically add the person who clicks to a user Close Friends on instagram?
Iโ€™m pretty sure there is no way to generate a link that automatically adds someone to your close friends on Instagram, I searched for some apps that fit what youโ€™re asking but came to a dead end, the closest thing youโ€™d get to what youโ€™re after is threads and that technically doesnโ€™t even have what you want.
