Thanks for all the responses everyone. I was not thinking about the purchase price when I initially posted. I was more concerned about the English keyboard and if AppleCare would cover any damage in US + Thailand. I ended up speaking to Apple support a bit ago and was told applecare would cover any damage in both countries but I did not get a direct answer about the keyboard layout.
