You'll probably want to start reading the Bible, but the Bible can be really intimidating and confusing - it's huge and ancient and contains a whole bunch of different kinds of writing. I always recommend the Bible Project as a reading companion for beginners (and intermediate and advanced)... And they have an introductory reading plan. Source: almost 2 years ago

A translation is not a sufficient tool for that. In addition to a translation, you're going to want to find scholarly resources talking about that sort of thing for any particular passage you're studying. Commentaries are a good resource, but expensive. One of the resources I like a lot is The Bible Project. It's not as scholarly in tone, but they work from very good scholarly sources, and are excellent at... Source: about 2 years ago

There really aren't Bible translation that are a lot better or worse than the others. I am a huge fan of the Bible Project as a reading companion, whichever translation you're reading. But the important thing is that Christianity is not just a book. We're supposed to seek God together, in fellowship with others. (Generally that centers on a church, though maybe not always.). Seriously, wandering YouTube is not ever a way to answer questions about Christianity. There are a few good sources on YouTube (like the Bible Project) but they are roses among a vast bramble of poisonous, radioactive thorns. Source: about 2 years ago
I would recommend Bible Project; they have a ton of great resources (mostly their excellent videos and their podcast) to be able to help you think about a lot of whatโs in the Bible and better understand some of the confusing parts.
