• Slow internet issues with lots of uncorrectables

  Hello! Ever since moving into a new house, I've haven't been getting the speeds I've expecting. Specifically, videos and websites will fail to load or load extremely slowly most of the time. The odd thing is, when running a speed test (tested using both testmy.net and speedtest.net on Firefox with my laptop wired via ethernet), I'll get 5 mbs down on the first test, 100 mbs on the second test, then back down to 15... • Nothing but issues, so here's my review in "old man yells at cloud" style

  T-Mobile - 5G WI-FI decently priced... If it only worked! Below I'll post my results from a few hours of a test I did today using Testmy.net. This is an every day occurrence. You could be watching a YouTube video at a nice 1080p60, but then it'll switch to buffering for about 5-15 minutes on average. Or you can watch it on 144p or 240p "with some buffering".   You're more than likely eating tons of packet loss. You can test easily at https://packetlosstest.com/. As others have said try https://testmy.net/ for speed tests. You'll get a much clearer picture of actual speeds. ISP often prioritize speedtest.net and other ones as well to bloat the numbers. Source: over 2 years ago

• NEED HELP. PLDT contractor installed the wrong modem when he installed my service making me unable to get past 100 Mbps despite my plan being 600 Mbps (+200Mbps Speedboost). Only found out last month with the help of their Tech support.

  It is HG8145V5. If that's the case, then why would the Tech support rep come to that conclusion? Di ko rin pala namention na I went to my friend's house and tested the same modem, 400 Mbps din plan niya and it also got the same speedtest result (testmy.net, speedtest by ookla etc.).   My neighbor and I have been experiencing highly variable download speeds. I ran a test with testmy.net yesterday using my desktop connected by ethernet to my modem.   Also: try an internet speed test on the Switch (connection test under system settings), I doubt you are actually getting 25 mbps. Use a reliable speed test like https://testmy.net/ to see how fast your Internet really is, other speed tests use multi threaded downloads and get priority traffic on ISPs to give you an inflated network speed result.   I have Dishhome Fibernet and two things I love the most about it are affordability and reliable internet speed. I bought 100 Mbps internet at Rs. 800 / month and the speeds at any time on fast.com is 120 Mbps+. It is similar on speedtest.net. On testmy.net which uses internet servers like from Singapore or Florida, it is less but wayy better than other ISPs. It is normally 90 - 95 Mbps there. On ISPs like... Source: over 2 years ago

• Connection Speed Slower than supposed to be

  I am having issues ever since obtaining spectrum. I pay for the "up to 300MBps" speed plan. My download speed can barely scratch 1MBps according to testmy.net and doing a google speed test. I have the standard modem and router that they provided and have only seen my speeds go above 2 a handful of times. I have witnessed it go above 30MBps but only 1 time in the past.   I have a Dell 5530 supplied by my work, built by our desktop guys (I'm in network/server support). At home, I've had 900MB FTTP installed, and after some issues with the speeds anyway, I've now discovered that running any speedtest (testmy.net, speedtest.net, fast.com, etc) on the 5530 shows the speeds reversed, i.e. I'm getting 100MB download and 800MB+ upload, and it's only on the laptop, all other devices show...   Tested my download speed at fast.com and testmy.net, both show me that my download speed is 200-300 Mbps, but when I try downloading any file in my PC's browser (Edge) or from my phone's browser (Chrome) it goes down to 100Kbps or less, and when I try downloading something from an app store like Microsoft Store or Play Store I can download a 100MB app in less than a minute. • How to bypass ISP throttling?

  Whenever I consume 20gb per day, my ISP throttles the speed down to 1mbps, except on social media apps (tiktok, playstore, facebook, etc...) is there any method to trick the ISP into thinking the data is coming from those apps instead of lets say steam, youtube? I tried using a VPN, it doesn't work. Oookla speedtest and fast.com shows the full speed, while testmy.net shows 1mbps (120kb/s) which is the true speed. Source: over 2 years ago
