Telemetry or tracking in free (as in freedom) and open source apps is a big no, and after the devs doubled down on their decision against huge community backlash, the community decided to fork the app on GitHub and called it Tenacity.   There's a fork out there called Tenacity which is basically the same thing but with the spyware stripped out. If you are still using Audacity, you probably need to delete that immediately. Source: about 2 years ago
