Here's the website version of it: Takoboto.jp. Source: 7 months ago
In November 2022 I started seriously learning Kanji with the NihongoShark.com Deck in Anki and finished it in August. I plan to keep reviewing the cards for long as I can, but it's becoming tedious and I feel my retention is getting worse. Specially when I miss one day it's so bothering to catch up.I added vocabulary and example phrases from Kanji Koohii to the cards, but most of these phrases are very advanced so... I personally use Takoboto for my dictionary, but sites like jisho.org are perfectly fine as well (Since I'm on mobile a lot, the Takoboto app works really well for me). Source: 10 months ago
I think there are subs dedicated to translation help. Here's an online dictionary I like: Takoboto. You'll want to put the character と between the two words, which should be nouns. In this dictionary, there are also example phrases for a lot of words, so I'd look at those to make sure it's the right meaning for each word. Look up each word individually. Source: 12 months ago
Try dictionary like takoboto -> https://takoboto.jp/. Source: about 1 year ago
If you're looking for a dictionary to use on your phone or computer, I like Takoboto. If you're looking for dictionaries on paper, I wrote this comment a while ago that goes over some good ones. Source: over 1 year ago
Anyway. So you have a URL, once you urldecode it, which is https://takoboto.jp/?w=1582710. So far, so good; that loads a page with the word 日本 in the browser. But what you want to do is the reverse, that is start with 日本 and get to 1582710, right? Source: almost 2 years ago
All you really need is something to read, a dictionary (like takoboto.jp or jisho.org) and the time and patience to stick with it. Remember: Japanese isn't hard, it's just different enough that you'll need to throw all of your english speaking assumptions out before starting, and large enough that it will take a while to get a decent grasp on it. My secondary dictionary is Takoboto, I dunno if it's what you're looking for, but it has word and grammar lists built in. Source: about 2 years ago
Same, it gave me better results than Google translate. I still use Google Translate at times, mostly out of habit. Two more sites that I found to be ok for now are Takoboto and ReversoContext. Source: over 2 years ago
Takoboto literally uses the same data as jisho at least according to their site. Source: over 2 years ago
You can copy and paste the kanji or hiragana into a dictionary like takoboto.jp. Source: over 2 years ago
This can be supplemented with a dictionary that has pitch when you're unsure or your listening recognition is still shaky. Such as https://takoboto.jp/. Source: over 2 years ago
It sounds like it is just pitch accent; if you erased all the unnecessary parts of the "snakes" in that image you'd have something identical to what you're describing. Why don't you cross-reference your dictionary with another one? i.e, look up 「橋」in your dictionary and on a site like takoboto.jp, and if the "snake" on takoboto matches the "diacritics" in your dictionary then they almost certainly do indicate pitch. Physical copies? I have no idea. I use jisho.org, takoboto.jp, and thesaurus.weblio.jp. Looking up kanji in the dictionary is a little difficult if you don't know the reading, but you can use radical search to make it easier. That means you select the radicals that make up a complicated kanji to look up a word in the dictionary. Source: almost 3 years ago
