Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing StreetSpring.
  1. Which are the primary technologies used for building StreetSpring?

StreetSpring is an AI-powered location intelligence platform that predicts business survivability and revenue potential at specific addresses. We analyze 100+ proprietary location factors across 15+ datasets—learning from over 500,000 real business outcomes—to answer the question every entrepreneur and real estate agent needs answered, from either direction:

  2. What makes StreetSpring unique?

About a third of new businesses close within two years, and location is the biggest reason. StreetSpring predicts it. Enter an address and a business type and get a 0 to 100 Survivability Score, built from 100+ location factors and 500,000+ real business outcomes across 24 US metros. Other tools measure foot traffic. StreetSpring scores survival.

  3. How would you describe the primary audience of StreetSpring?

New businesses and real estate agents

  4. Why should a person choose StreetSpring over its competitors?

StreetSpring scores any commercial address 0 to 100 for how likely a business type is to survive there, built from 500,000+ real business outcomes across 24 US metros.

  5. What's the story behind StreetSpring?

I founded StreetSpring because I kept seeing the same problem over and over again. While walking through Philadelphia one day, I noticed how many storefronts were sitting vacant. At the same time, friends and family who wanted to start restaurants, cafés, salons, gyms, and retail shops were hesitant to take the leap.

It made me realize how difficult it is for a new business owner to understand—before signing a lease—whether their business is likely to succeed at a specific address. There are tens of thousands of similar businesses across the country, and no easy way to learn from their outcomes or neighborhood-level performance.

That's why I created StreetSpring, an AI-powered platform that predicts business survivability, revenue potential, and optimal locations for brick-and-mortar businesses. The tool runs in two directions on the same model: tenant reps and entrepreneurs use Find a Location to rank addresses for a chosen business; landlord reps use Fill a Location to rank business types for a chosen address. StreetSpring brings together AI modeling, consumer expenditure data, competitor intensity, walkability, and geospatial insights to show which addresses offer the highest chance of long-term success—from whichever angle you're approaching the question.

My mission is to create what I call The StreetSpring Effect—a measurable rise in the survival rate of new businesses by using AI to help entrepreneurs choose the best possible locations from day one. Fewer avoidable failures. More businesses staying open. Stronger neighborhoods.

  6. Who are some of the biggest customers of StreetSpring?

Have a business and need a location? Find a Location ranks every address by Survivability Score. Have an address and need a business? Fill a Location ranks every business type by who'll thrive there. Same model, two flows—built for tenant reps, landlord reps, and entrepreneurs alike.

    Our platform provides:

    • Find a Location — pick a business type, see ranked addresses by Survivability Score
    • Fill a Location — pick an address, see ranked business types that fit the space
    • Survivability Scores: the probability (0-100%) that a specific business type will remain operational for at least 2 years at any given address
    • Revenue Capture Scores: estimates of market share a business could capture based on local demand, competition, and location advantages
    • Comprehensive Location Analysis: insights into 100+ factors including market demand, competition intensity, accessibility, neighborhood characteristics, site economics, and performance history Interactive Map Interface: visual heatmaps showing high and low survivability areas across entire neighborhoods
    • Scenario Testing: editable inputs to test what-if scenarios (different rent levels, square footage, business concepts)

We serve two primary audiences: new business owners opening brick-and-mortar locations and commercial real estate agents (tenant reps and landlord reps) who advise clients on site selection.
