Then that can be done on partner.steamgames.com -> Edit Store Page -> Basic Info tab -> Supported Platforms section. You don't have to put any requirements for the sound card btw. Source: over 3 years ago
I also tried this weird thing partner.steamgames.com. I thought that it is possible to find name_id by classid but it doesn't work. Source: over 3 years ago

Steamworks offers loads of functionality that developers can leverage to use in their products. Yeah, it's "industry standard", but it's kind of weird to act like it's just a place to list your games. Source: over 3 years ago

If you plan to release on Steam, then I would really recommend you to read the steamworks documentation. Although it seems to be down right now. Source: almost 4 years ago
No it doesn't. Steam offers DRM via Steamworks, but it's up to the developer/publisher whether they want to implement it or not. There's plenty of games on Steam that will launch via the .exe in the install directory. Source: almost 4 years ago

First of all, that "bigger cut" comes with a lot of benefits: free updates, cloudsaves, marketplace, forum, social (like steam friends), marketplace, workshop, demos etc (you can find more here: https://partner.steamgames.com/ ), things like this cost money to maintain. Sony (and until recently Microsoft) ask for the same % and offer similar benefits. Source: about 4 years ago
Parsec is a "sold" product and Moonlight is a fan based streaming centered GitHub project where Steam is offering RP/Link as a "side" offer complimentary, totally free of charge to their customers on top of huge feature set https://partner.steamgames.com/. So you expecting professional level quality from Steam even if none of the rival Game Stores offer anything that's close was unwarranted to begin with. Source: about 4 years ago
You get quite a lot from steam as a developer. And on the front page of steamworks you get more general things listed as well, not just features related to how you can use it in your games. Source: about 4 years ago

Anyone can create a Steamworks account (though you need to fill out some paperwork and provide bank and tax documents), and as long as the developer has given you the rights to publish their game, you can use that account to handle creating the store page for the... Yeah I didn't understand why there was so little valuable information about this when trying to upload the demo for my new game to Steam, once I finally tried myself it made more sense. Launching a game on Steam is actually a complicated process your first time around. I can't help you with crowdfunding because I have no experience with it, as for publishing a game into Steam, first step is to head to Steamworks, it's the business side of the Steam. There you will find all the information you need for uploading a game or app to the Steam Store. They handle things like local pricing, separate beta builds, early access builds, key generation and monitoring, etc. Source: over 4 years ago
