- if your phone lacks the capacity to process cards - Square's card reader - affordable, simple to use. Source: 11 months ago
I have this Square contactless/chip reader so if a customer doesn't have tap-to-pay they just insert their card. I do keep my old magstripe reader handy just in case. There have been a few times my contactless/chip reader didn't work for a few minutes (maybe related to unstable con wifi?) and I used the magstripe reader instead. Source: 11 months ago

I thought you were “hypothetically” wanting to get something like a Square Reader/Terminal and use Google Pay, right? Source: almost 2 years ago
While this is a new feature for iPhones, it is not a new concept at all. Square has offered a pocket sized wireless reader since 2015. Source: about 2 years ago
It sounds like you're talking about the Apple Cash peer-to-peer money transfer service. Commercial transactions are forbidden. If you're running a business and want to take cards then take cards. Sign up for Square or another service that has a contactless card terminal and then people can use Apple Pay to tap their cards. Source: over 2 years ago
Does it do it with the contactless and chip reader? Source: over 2 years ago
You can get a Square reader with the tap to pay. You might be able to get pickpocketed and have no idea unless you check your bank account. https://squareup.com/us/en/hardware/contactless-chip-reader. Source: over 2 years ago
Square does have an NFC reader available so people can take chip and contactless payments (e.g., NFC, Apple Pay, and Google Pay). Source: almost 3 years ago
I too am ex-Square, and in fact I worked on the firmware for the [https://squareup.com/us/en/hardware/contactless-chip-reader](Square Reader for Contactless and Chip). All hardware design, from the external design through the mechanical and electrical is done in house. Not going to say that Stripe was uh... Influenced by the design, but I do think that imitation is a nice form of flattery. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
