If you’re just getting started sqlbolt is good. It’s entirely browser-based and free. Don’t even have to make an account. Source: almost 2 years ago
My recommendation is to sign up for codecademy.com and create an account to learn SQL over there. Also use sqlbolt.com because both of these websites provide detailed interactive SQL tutorials that should help you write it. You write the SQL as you learn it which is a better way of learning it in my opinion. Source: almost 2 years ago

I work in data analysis (so close enough I hope?) I highly recommend getting good at Microsoft excel (learn how to use pivot tables; index matching and basic formulas. Also make sure you explicitly mention you can do these 3 things either in your CV or cover letter ). The other thing you might need to know is SQL. Here is a good way to start with that imo. SQL find some online tutorial like sqlzoo: https://sqlzoo.net/wiki/SQL_Tutorial or sqlbot https://sqlbolt.com/ and watch this: https://youtu.be/6VCHuLqfmV8 all you need to know is common table expressions, they look a lot like a let statement in programming meaning you are giving the dbms everything at once and letting it figure out how to optimize the entire sql query. Https://sqlbolt.com is a great way to dabble with SQL as a complete beginner. Lots of companies get their trainees started this way.
