Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Splitter.ai and what they use it for.
  • I hate that even with the introduction of object based surround sound mixing for music, we still have to settle for stem separation software and websites that give awful results which not even izotope RX can save.
Check what AI can do for you. https://splitter.ai/. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Extracting one voice or person speaking inside a .WAV file
Https://splitter.ai/ Here is one but.. That is also for music. It might be able to do it, or not. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Separating tracks
There is a way to split instrumental and vocals, but it's using an AI, and pretty often it doesn't offer perfect results. Link here. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Stagecraft "Simple Stems" A quick and easy way to decompose any audio into its constituent parts. The plugin uses the well-established Spleeter algorithm by Deezer to deconstruct songs into 2, 4 or 5 stems ($25) through 30 June
The Spleeter algorithm is free to use and implement, so this app is just charging you for a GUI. Plenty of websites (like https://splitter.ai) will let you run the Spleeter model on your own tracks completely for free. I would definitely suggest trying out Spleeter on one of those websites before buying a GUI for it, because it can sound pretty artificial compared to some other algorithms. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Advice
If you haven't got a following yet, release bootleg remixes for free download on soundcloud, ripping voclas out of tracks using splitter.ai work on growing your brand and getting your music heard (TikTok is great for this). Within a year or two you'll be in a muuuch better position to be approaching labels with original material. Source: about 3 years ago

  • Looking for help with a song.
Do you have samples? I can give you a tip: use Splitter to get out the vocals, it's not always perfect, but maybe it'll be good with this song. You can always try to hide imperfections under the music. Source: over 3 years ago
  • How can I make this rumble kick?
Sounds more like an actual bassline to me, not a rumble. Try recording it, putting it into Ableton and high pass filter it so you can only hear the subs. Or use a tool like splitter.ai (results may vary here) to isolate the bassline. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Could anyone give me some advice on how to remove the original music form scenes.
I've used this one a few times: https://splitter.ai/. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Is it possible for someone to create a karaoke track of seven wonders from Catch Me if You Can? If not is there a free website I could use to create one?
Once you have the original music you need to create an instrumental version. You can use the free versions of splitter.ai or x-minus.pro . If the free version doesn't meet your requirements it's not very expensive for the paid version. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Zappa mudd club '80

  • Mojarth - What If BRODHA V Produced Forever?? (Mix is a little crappy because of the low quality acapella)
Thank you for your compliments!! splitter.ai was the website for this..... But the original tracks mixing was a bit old-school/casette-tape style, so the extracted acapella was very bad in quality, affecting the quality of the entire mix. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Does anyone know how to separate the voice from a song this clean?
I need an accept for "In the Night by The Weeknd", and I got this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRoeKF2tYq4 I tried to use splitter.ai to do it, but it wasn't that good. Does anyone know how they do this? Source: over 3 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of Splitter.ai

Splitter.ai has garnered a mixed reception within the music production and audio processing communities. As an AI-powered tool, it caters primarily to enthusiasts and professionals needing to separate audio tracks, such as vocals and instrumentals, from existing music recordings. However, public opinion suggests a divergence in satisfaction levels, largely dependent on expectations and usage contexts.

One of the prominent commendations for Splitter.ai is its accessibility. As an open-source web tool based on Deezer's Spleeter technology, Splitter.ai provides a free-to-use platform for audio decomposition without substantial financial commitment. Its ease of use aligns with the needs of individuals looking for entry-level solutions, particularly hobbyists and independent artists. Many users appreciate its utility for creating remixes or karaoke tracks, reiterating that itโ€™s a decent option within the free segment of stem separation tools.

Nevertheless, users express considerable reservations regarding the quality of results produced by Splitter.ai. Across various mentions, there is a recurrent theme of users finding the separation results less than perfect. Artifacts, such as an artificial sound or degraded audio quality, are frequently cited among users who have experienced similar difficulties even with competitive products in the Ai-based audio space. In some cases, users mention that alternatives like LALAL.AI or other advanced tools potentially offer better output, despite the additional cost.

The limitation in achieving high fidelity separations is a critical feedback point, especially among professionals or users with more discerning quality standards. For instance, when attempting to isolate vocals or other distinct audio elements from complex tracks, the results can be inconsistent, sometimes necessitating further post-processing to ameliorate imperfections.

Moreover, Splitter.aiโ€™s role as a straightforward application of the Spleeter algorithm means that while it provides a convenient GUI for lay users, it does not introduce novel improvements or advanced processing techniques beyond what Spleeter inherently offers. As a result, while it meets basic needs, users whose projects demand high-level audio accuracy and clarity may find it lacking.

In summary, Splitter.ai's public perception pinpoints its inclusivity and availability as strengths, paired with its fundamental utility in basic music and audio decomposition tasks. However, its reliance on an underlying algorithm that faces stiff competition underscores its limitations in delivering the pristine results that professional or critical use cases might demand. For many, Splitter.ai represents a pragmatic starting point but potentially an interim solution pending further technological enhancements or until higher-grade tools become accessible.
