  • Spicetify and Magickmeter - is it safe?
To be honest I really dont know anything about software and I'm pretty bad at detecting red flags and such, not to mention I'm extremely paranoid about these things, I'm not sure if this is allowed in this sub, but I just wanna know if I'm downloading something malicious here, as far as I know it (Spicetify) downloads through Windows powershell. Here are the links if you wanna check it out -... Source: over 3 years ago
  • Script to remove the annoying podcasts from the Spotify flatpak
Just wanted to throw out there that you could most likely do something similar simply by hiding them via CSS using spicetify-cli. I use it to hide/modify tons of of things in the UI since it's essentially just a web browser showing HTML pages. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Rainmeter + Spotify
Spicetify-cli is another 3rd party option and is basically a mix of the two things above made solely for spotify. While also doing other things, it allows you to have the full functionality of the webnowplaying plugin discussed above with the spotify app - aka spotify becomes a fully supported player unlike how it is with just the nowplaying measure. This method requires spicetify and its own webnowplaying... Source: over 3 years ago
  • Finally found a way to remove duplicates from playlists and liked songs! Also a much better shuffle.
And for anyone who deeply hates the shuffle algorithm, there is a solution for that as well. It's called Spicetify. It can be used to also theme your Spotify and add multiple features, you can find all the info in the GitHub about it. But as a tldr:. Source: over 3 years ago

  • webnowplaying doesn't work?
Spicetify is basically the old version and is now deprecated. It will not work with newer versions of spotify (and I don't think it works all that great with old versions either). Spicetify-cli is the new version, however it is currently in need of an update as well so that it works with the latest version of spotify. Source: over 3 years ago
  • [Q] Help solve a minor obession of mine?
If you're bothered by Spotify's shuffling algorithm be sure to check out Spicetify. It's a lightweight open-source tool that allows you to get some pretty neat extensions for your desktop Spotify app (among them one that hides all podcast content, custom themes, ...). There's also an extension that implements (unbiased) Fischer-Yates shuffling. Source: over 3 years ago
