  You can find distributions with plugins for those editors, like Doom Emacs or space vim. These days, I enjoy doing (neo)vim configs (with lua).   There are a few projects that do this for you like lunarvim or spacevim and they provide a much nicer experience out the box and make it a lot easier to discover things inside it.   If you don't want to spend time configuring VIM, try some pre-configured vim/nvim distributions. I loved space-vim back in the day. There is a project called lunar-vim which is nvim configuration, there is astro-vim which is based on lunarvim but with some more simplifications. Source: about 4 years ago
