2. What makes Sorinai unique?

   Ask most AI notetakers what they do and the answer is the same. They listen to the recording of a call and produce a summary in different formats. That isn't note taking. It's an LLM wrapped around a recorder, instead of playing the meeting back, you read it back.

   Sorinai is built for the part they skip: the meeting itself.

   It's a notepad that sits beside the call. You type in it the way you normally would, and it's in the room with you, so it hears what you hear and can see what you see. So when someone hands you a figure halfway through a sentence about something else, you don't have to choose between typing it and losing the next ten seconds, or trusting a recording to have caught it. You say "write that down" and it lands in your notepad. Ask what an acronym meant, whether what they just said is true, or what to ask next, and it answers from the live conversation.

   It doesn't write your notes for you. Most of this category is racing to do exactly that; we'd rather build the notepad that writes down what you asked for and then gets out of the way. You note what mattered, it tidies and fills in around you, and every line it writes has to be backed by a word-for-word quote from the call. If the quote isn't there, the line is dropped rather than guessed at. It can correct a number to what was actually said. It can't make one up.

   Bring your own template, like the Word or PDF file your team already uses, and it fills the fields as the conversation reaches them. You get your own document back, formatting untouched.

   No bot joins the call. Sorinai listens on your computer, and it works anywhere a bot can't be invited: a WhatsApp call, a Slack huddle, two people at a table. You still tell people you're recording. That part is on you, the same as it always was.

   Nothing you record is used to train a model. Mac and Windows. Free, with unlimited meetings.

3. Why should a person choose Sorinai over its competitors?

   Because Sorinai actually takes notes.

   Note taking happens during the conversation. Someone says something that matters and you write it down, while they're still saying it. That's what the word means, and it's how everyone took notes until about two years ago.

   AI notetakers dropped that part. They record the call, wait for it to end, and hand you a document. You don't take notes any more — you read the meeting back afterwards and hope the summary caught what you would have. That's a recorder with an LLM on it. It isn't note taking.

   Most of them aren't built for you, either. They're built for your company: a bot in every call, every transcript in one archive, so the organisation can keep tabs on what was said — and on you. Sorinai is built for the person in the meeting. Your notepad, your notes, there to help you get through the call and stay on top of what came out of it.

   So it works the way note taking is meant to work, with a partner in the room rather than a recorder in the corner. You still write down what matters. When you're too busy listening to type, you tell it — "write that down", "add what she said about the budget" — and the line lands in your notepad. Your template fills in as the answers come up. If you need to know what an acronym meant or whether a figure is right, you ask, and it answers from what's being said. When you hang up the notes already exist, and you were there for every line of them.

   A summary written afterwards is a reconstruction. A note written during the call is a record you were present for. That's the whole difference.

4. How would you describe the primary audience of Sorinai?

   People who are in meetings all day and need something usable out of each one — recruiters, salespeople, consultants, clinicians, anyone running interviews or client calls. Especially if you have a form to fill after every meeting (scorecard, intake sheet, CRM fields, minutes template) — Sorinai fills that file during the call. Individuals first; small teams too. Mac and Windows.

5. What's the story behind Sorinai?

   The reason I built Sorinai is that I believe there's a better way to interact with AI than we all currently do. AI has become very good at helping us before and after the things that matter, but almost useless during them. We use it to prepare and tidy up afterwards. But in the moment itself, AI is somewhere else, waiting to be told about it later.

   There wasn't really a word for the thing I wanted, so we ended up calling it an Interactive AI Notepad. It sees, it listens, and you can talk to it while things are still happening.

   I want it to not only help with writing better meeting notes, but be a teammate or partner for every meeting. Something you can readily depend and have by your side during important conversations.
