This page is designed to help you find out whether SoKal is good and if it is the right choice for you.
Most calendar sharing is all or nothing. Someone sees everything, or they see busy. SoKal lets you set visibility per person and per type of event. Your partner sees your workouts and errands, friends see your outings and trips, and everyone else sees busy. You can hide locations on anything you share.
Connect Google, Apple, or Outlook and your events sync in automatically. Flights show up as travel and dinner reservations as outings. Add friends to your calendar in their own color and get notified when they add plans. Free on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web.

Most calendar sharing is all or nothing: someone sees everything or they see busy. SoKal gives you per-person, per-event-type control, plus real-time updates when friends add plans. Static calendar links and ICS exports can't do that. It's also free and works on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web.

SoKal is a full calendar with a social layer on top. You can run your whole schedule in it, and your friends' plans show up right next to yours in their own color. You choose what each friend sees, by type of event. Your partner can see your workouts and errands, friends see your outings and trips, and everyone else just sees busy. You can hide locations on anything you share. It syncs with Google, Apple, and Outlook, and it's free on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web.
Friend groups who want to know who's free and who's in town. People who travel and want to catch friends along the way: if you and a friend are both headed to Chicago the same weekend, SoKal notices and lets you know, so you never have to go looking. Couples who want to see each other's week, and students coordinating around class schedules. Local businesses, pop-ups, and leagues use SoKal for Business to show customers when and where to find them.
I played professional basketball for 15 years across 9 countries, then taught myself to code. A while later I went back to Mercer for homecoming. The night I was leaving, I opened Instagram and saw stories from friends who'd been there the whole weekend. We were in the same town and none of us knew. That's when I decided to build SoKal: a calendar that shows you your friends' plans and tells you when you're in the same place, with you in control of what they see of yours.

I built SoKal after going home for college homecoming and finding out from Instagram stories, the night I left, that my friends had been in town all weekend. SoKal is a full calendar with your friends' plans built in. You choose what each person sees, and if you and a friend are both headed to the same city, it tells you. Free on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web.
