Turn your phone into a presentation remote: upload a PDF, scan a QR code, control your slides with notes, timer, laser, zoom and live audience Q&A. Free, no app, no signup.
A startup from France that is founded by Nicolas Gougé.
This page is designed to help you find out whether Slidect is good and if it is the right choice for you.
Slidect turns any phone into a presentation remote. Upload a PDF (everything exports to PDF), put the presenter view on the big screen and scan the QR code with your phone: it becomes the remote, with your current slide, your notes, a timer, a laser pointer, zoom, blackout and a slide grid.
The big screen opens on a welcome screen with a QR code and a join code, so the audience connects while people are still sitting down. Attendees follow the slides on their own phone, send live emoji reactions and ask questions (anonymously if they want); the presenter sees them on the remote and answers when ready.
No account, no app, no cookies. Everything runs in the browser on any device and installs as a PWA. Sessions are ephemeral (a 6-character join code plus a 6-digit presenter PIN) and are deleted after the talk. Slide sync uses simple polling, so it keeps working on hostile conference Wi-Fi.
Made for teachers, conference speakers and anyone who presents from a machine that is not theirs. Free. Try the interactive demo without signing up: https://www.slidect.com/demo

React 19 and Vite on the front end, a Hono server on Node 24, PostgreSQL, Cloudinary for slide images, hosted on Railway. Slides are rendered from the PDF in the browser with pdf.js, so the file itself never leaves your computer. Slide sync uses short-interval polling rather than WebSockets, which survives conference Wi-Fi and aggressive proxies. Installable as a PWA. Analytics: self-hosted Umami, no cookies.
Slidect works on a machine that is not yours. No app to install on the room's computer, no account, nothing to configure: open the presenter view in a browser, scan the QR code with your phone and you are in control. The big screen opens on a welcome screen with a QR code, so the audience joins while people are still sitting down, and they follow, react and ask questions from their own phone.
Hardware clickers get lost and only press next. Keynote Remote needs an iPhone and a Mac. Slido and Mentimeter handle the audience but not the slides, and they cost from about 10 EUR a month. Slidect does both in one free tool: your phone is the remote (with notes, timer, laser, zoom and blackout) and the audience gets a QR code to follow, react and ask questions. It runs in any browser, with nothing to install and no signup.
Teachers and trainers who want to walk around the room instead of standing at the desk, conference speakers who present from a laptop that is not theirs, and anyone running a team meeting who wants live questions and reactions without a paid audience tool. Bilingual (English and French).
Slidect is a solo side project by Nicolas Gougé, an independent developer in France. It started from a scene seen too often in meeting rooms and classrooms: someone hunched over a laptop pressing arrow keys, or fumbling with a clicker someone else borrowed last week. A phone is already a better remote: it has a screen for your notes, a timer and your current slide. Slidect went live in summer 2026 and is built and run by one person.
