Shymea computes before it interprets. Planetary positions come from NASA JPL's DE442 ephemeris through the Skyfield library, and every reading is generated from that computed chart rather than from a Sun sign. We published the accuracy check: 870 positions compared against the Swiss Ephemeris, median difference 0.17 arcseconds, and the two engines never once disagreed about a sign. Horary questions are judged by a rule engine built from William Lilly's 1647 text, not by a language model.
Most astrology apps either give everyone born in the same month the same paragraph, or hand the whole job to a language model that can invent placements. Shymea does neither. The chart is calculated first, and the AI assistant only ever receives computed factors — never raw birth data. The house system and ephemeris are stated openly on a published methodology page, so you can check what was actually computed. The web tools are genuinely free: 14 calculators and a 36-chapter course, no account.
People who already know their Sun sign and want the rest of the chart. In practice that's two groups: readers who want daily guidance that follows their real transits instead of a generic horoscope, and more serious students of Western astrology who want correct computation — house systems, aspects, returns, progressions, horary — without buying desktop software.
