  The Latin and Greek characters I typed directly, the accent mark I added with unicode input mode while referencing combining diacritical marks, and for the rest, shapecatcher.com, which is a really wonderful and useful site. • ELI5: who/how alphabetized the alphabet for the English language? Is it random or is there some sort of guiding principle I’m unaware of? Bonus points if there’s actually a ‘better’ alphabetical order out there?

  Unfortunately, there's no Unicode characters with the shapes required for a lot of sounds in English, especially the vowels; I used this service to double-check, and to find the ones I did.
