I also use an app that reverses the scroll direction of an attached USB mouse, without affecting the (natural) trackpad scroll direction, because MacOS... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Normal mice support is deliberately broken in macOS (so that you consider buying their Magic Mouse), but can be easily fixed with a 3rd party app like Scroll Reverser. Source: almost 2 years ago
Mouse: I believe this requires 3rd party app, if there is MacOS option for that please enlighten me, I have a Logitech mouse and Logitech software has settings for that but there are other, non-brand specific tools e.g. scroll-reverser (available in brew or here), which BTW can also change behavior of the trackpad if you want those options modified in one place. The default "Natural" scroll direction is optimized for a touchpad because that's how you scroll on a touch surface (be it your phone or a windows laptop touchpad). Not being able to set different scroll directions for trackpad and mouse is stupid, yes, this utility does the trick: https://pilotmoon.com/scrollreverser/. Source: almost 3 years ago
I've recently tried LinearMouse and so far it is good. I've also been using MOS, Scroll Reverser and Karabiner for a few years now. I've heard good things about SteerMouse but I have not used it, but you should try it if you like to have one software to fully configure your pointing devices. Source: almost 3 years ago
