  I have done most of my coding so far on scrimba.com which is a great course which provides its own text editors but I do want to start using visual studio code.   Seems like we are in opposite sides of the spectrum - I'm good with HTML, CSS & JS but currently learning Java. Jonas is a great instructor and I think I did the HTML/CSS course you're referring to - although if you want something free, check out freecodecamp.com for some good HTML/CSS basics.
