Another very successful way to go about building a language is Imba. Build a successful product with new lang https://scrimba.com, make sure the product's very hard to Jeff and take VC money. Now you can work on the language as you please, and they can't Jeff you since nobody else can build something similar (not in a reasonable amount of time anyway) P.S: taking VC money is... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Imba powers Scrimba which is an incredibly cool platform with interactive coding screencasts: https://scrimba.com/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Well it powers https://scrimba.com which looks serious enough. Iโve known about it for the past 6 years, but never had the chance to use it because Iโve only done static websites lately. I am starting work on an automatic irrigation system that will have a web/PWA frontend and I remembered about Imba which I plan to use this time. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
I started with some html and css course on youtube, then learnt jquery briefly. Then I used scrimba.com to learn javascript and react, its a really good platform, at this point, I learn frameworks to use with react, like tailwind, material ui. I would now learn typescript and this point and learn how to implement it with react. I then went to freeCodeCamp on youtube and watched their 8 hours node and express... Source: almost 3 years ago
Regarding a modern alternative to Flash, I just want to mention the Scrimba webdev learning platform [1], which leverages a custom built programming language [2] for making interactive courses and save the videos in an optimized vector format with a very small footprint. It was released in a Launch HN 3 years ago [3]. Personally, I have used the platform to teach the basics of frontend web dev to my wife, and it... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Hi everyone! I'm in the very early stages of creating an interactive course and I would like to hear your thoughts on them. So far I've come across Scrimba and Jad Joubran's learn X series of sites (learnjavascript.online, learnhtmlcss.online, etc...). Has anyone completed any of them? Any there any others that you really like or would recommend? Source: about 3 years ago

It's been a while since I was beginner but when I was looking for beginner resources for a friend recently, I particularly liked scrimba's interactive courses. AFAIK they are also free and should give you a great start. Source: about 3 years ago
I think https://scrimba.com is super underrated. Itโs very interactive and they have videos and code literally within your editor no need for copy pasting and all that, they write the code in front of you while explaining it and you can just change it right then and there. Source: about 3 years ago
Try this my friend. https://scrimba.com/ They have free courses for HTML, CSS and JS. I took my second step in react here and it blew my mind, it was easy to understand and the mentor was amazing on explaining every detail. I initially bought react course from udemy by maximilian, it was complicated AF! So I tried this and now I think I have a good grasp of react now. Planning to buy react course by Jonas in udemy... I have done most of my coding so far on scrimba.com which is a great course which provides its own text editors but I do want to start using visual studio code. I can find a lot of resources on how to set up a react app but not much on how to deal with how to transcribe jsx to js etc. Source: about 3 years ago

Hello. as most people are saying TS is the way forward in nearly all serious jobs. The main reason is that it improves test that are written on the code. My favourite place to learn is scrimba.com because you don't just watch videos you can pause the learning and start coding immediately into the lesson - this course on TS is free I believe https://scrimba.com/learn/typescript. Seems like we are in opposite sides of the spectrum - I'm good with HTML, CSS & JS but currently learning Java. Jonas is a great instructor and I think I did the HTML/CSS course you're referring to - although if you want something free, check out freecodecamp.com for some good HTML/CSS basics. Don't quote me on this but I believe I read/heard somewhere that some of the pre-work that is sent out prior to the cohort... Source: over 3 years ago
