This page is designed to help you find out whether ScanOrbit is good and if it is the right choice for you.
ScanOrbit is a QR code generator built for people who need more than a static image. Every dynamic code can be edited after printing - change the destination without reprinting anything - and every scan is tracked with real analytics: device, location, time of day, and OS. It supports 17+ QR types (URL, WiFi, vCard, PDF, email, SMS, WhatsApp, event, coupon, and more), full visual customization (colors, logos, frames), and password/expiry controls on paid plans. The Business plan adds white-label scan pages, a REST API with webhooks, Smart Routing (device/location/time-based redirects and A/B testing), and Digital Business Cards — a shared, on-brand card for a whole team with built-in lead capture. Free plan available, no credit card required.

Website QR Codes
A URL QR code encodes any web address and opens it in the user's browser with a single scan. It's the most common type - and with dynamic URL QR codes, you can change the destination whenever you like, without reprinting.
vCard Contact QR Codes
A vCard QR code stores your contact information - name, phone, email, website, company, and more — in a format that any smartphone can read and save directly to the Contacts app. No typing, no errors, instant connection.
WiFi Network QR Codes
A WiFi QR code encodes your network name (SSID), password, and encryption type so guests can connect instantly by scanning - no typing required. Works on iOS 11+, Android 10+, and most modern devices.
PDF Document QR Codes
A PDF QR code links to a hosted PDF document - perfect for menus, catalogues, brochures, instruction manuals, and certificates. When using a dynamic code, you can replace the PDF anytime without updating any printed materials.
Email QR Codes
An email QR code opens the user's default mail app with the To, Subject, and Body fields pre-filled - making it easy for customers to contact you, submit enquiries, or send feedback without typing a single character.
SMS QR Codes
An SMS QR code opens the user's Messages app with a phone number and pre-filled message body, ready to send. Perfect for opt-ins, customer service, delivery updates, and any SMS-based workflow.
WhatsApp QR Codes
A WhatsApp QR code opens a pre-filled conversation in WhatsApp with your business number — no need to save the contact first. Perfect for customer service, enquiries, and any business using WhatsApp as a primary support channel.
Phone Call QR Codes
A phone call QR code pre-dials a phone number so users just tap 'Call'. Eliminates typos and the friction of manually entering a number from a poster or card. Works with mobile and landline numbers.
App Store QR Codes
An App Store QR code detects the user's device and redirects them to the correct store automatically — Apple App Store for iPhone users, Google Play Store for Android users. Desktop visitors see a page with both options. One QR code for all your app install campaigns.
Landing Page QR Codes
A Landing Page QR code creates a fully hosted, branded mini website — with your name, tagline, logo, links, social profiles, and contact information. It's the most complete QR code type for personal branding, business profiles, and event pages.
Plain Text QR Codes
A plain text QR code encodes any text directly into the code. When scanned, it shows the text on screen without opening a browser. Great for short messages, serial numbers, asset codes, and offline information that doesn't need a URL.
Digital Business Cards
Design one shared card, add your team in bulk, and get their contact details back the moment someone scans - not just hand yours over and hope.
Small businesses and restaurants using QR codes for menus, WiFi, and contact info; sales and marketing teams running trackable print campaigns (posters, packaging, events); and growing teams that want a shared, on-brand digital business card with lead capture built in.
I don't have any real customer data to answer this honestly — I have no visibility into who's actually using SmartQR, and I won't invent company names to fill this in (that's exactly the kind of fake-testimonial problem that got fixed earlier in this project's history). If you have real customers you're comfortable naming, list them yourself; otherwise I'd just leave this one blank rather than fabricate an answer.
Unqode built SmartQR out of its own work as a digital product agency — QR codes kept showing up as a small but recurring need across client projects, and most existing tools were either too basic (a static image generator) or paywalled analytics and team features behind expensive plans. SmartQR became the tool built to actually solve that properly, then opened up as its own product.
Most QR tools either stop at a static image or bolt on analytics as an afterthought. SmartQR is built dynamic-first — every code can be re-pointed after printing, with real scan analytics (device, location, time of day) included from the free plan. It also goes beyond plain QR codes with Digital Business Cards that capture the other person's contact details back, not just share yours, and Smart Routing that sends the same printed code to different destinations by device, location, or time — including built-in A/B testing.
A genuinely usable free plan (3 dynamic QR codes, unlimited static, no credit card, no trial clock), real analytics on every plan instead of gating it behind the most expensive tier, and two features most QR tools don't have at all: two-way lead capture on Digital Business Cards, and Smart Routing for device/location/time-based targeting with A/B testing built in.
Next.js (React) for the frontend, Supabase (PostgreSQL + Auth) for the database and authentication, Deno-based serverless Edge Functions for the API, Razorpay for billing, and Vercel for hosting.
