  • Asking for Raise to Market Rate
I would like to know what kind of raise is reasonable to ask for when we have the conversation about my role in the next couple of months. Based on my research (via salary.com & similar sites), a Financial Analyst in my area averages around $65k (50th percentile). And that is "entry level". So I am already a bit behind. The avg salary of an FA II is around $76k in my area. Source: 6 months ago
  • Graphic Design major in college. After doing research the pay for GD isn't the best & I wanted more pay by going into 3D Art or Digital Illustration. I also enjoy those more then GD, however I have just realized this after sticking 3 years with GD... Should I just switch while I can?
In further context, I also enjoy creating 3D models more & have experience creating digital art as well. I have found those 2 things much more enjoyable than making logos and or posters in the form of "graphic design." Not to mention those 2 jobs mentioned pay more on average. (According to Indeed, Google, Salary.com, etc.). Source: 7 months ago
  • Are Salary.com and TopResume legit?
And, I accidentally checked yes to the free resume evaluation offered by TopResume (salary.com has a partnership with TopResume), and it seems like they took the resume file that I submitted for the application, which also contains my cover letter and two letters of recommendation. I noticed I made this mistake after checking my email that my resume is under review by TopResume for feedback. Source: 7 months ago
  • Career advice on pmp would be appreciated
Try salary.com, glassdoor.com, indeed.com and LinkedIn for starters to gain insight on salaries of the same of similar role that interests you. Source: 10 months ago
  • This is Yasir Al-Rumayyan's idea of a "merger"
In entities with comparable revenue, you can use a source like salary.com and do a side by side evaluation of the role. In the majority of cases, the PGA paid over 100% when you factored in salary, bonuses, retirement, etc. Source: 10 months ago
  • OT Salary Predictions for a New Graduate
I am figuring out how long it will take me to pay back my student loans after my master's program. Does anyone feel comfortable sharing their starting salary as a new graduate from OT school? Or do you have any tips for paying back loans quickly? I have researched average salaries on Bureau of Labor Statistics and salary.com, but they don't seem to give an average for new graduate pay. Thanks! Source: 10 months ago
  • Newport Beach resident raises $25K to feed police department
According to salary.com average pay at NBPD is just under $70k as of 6/26/2023. Not exactly well-off by SoCal living standards, especially if single earner. Source: 10 months ago
  • Finding a job to do with my disability
There are horrible people in every career office and some great people as well. It is sort of the luck of the draw. You can also use online tools like salary.com or even Linkedin to get a range for your geographic area. And remember salary ranges tend to vary by anywhere form 50-75% from top band to bottom band. Just because one person makes a certain amount is probably not representative of what everyone in the... Source: 10 months ago
  • How to choose a data analysis bootcamp and is it worth it?
I have 5 years experience in my current position, manage a team, work in a position multimodal responsibilities that means I juggle multiple areas of startup functions, and have a salary about at the average income of a normal data analyst. I am questioning whether I could see a reciprocal pay bump from this really given the salary.com averages, or if my unique experience would bring enough of a pay raise to make... • Need advice about an offer my job pushing on me.
I have been with a company for almost 8 years, in that time we have changed quite a lot of our business to provide photography to multiple school districts. The job has a slow season, but not much of one. We are extremely busy in just about every month with only a couple week lull in the beginning of summer. My boss has offered me a "new position" although it would be everything I already do with added... Source: 10 months ago
  • Salary range for an OT supervisor/manager
The 88k-120k was the range I found all over using OTSalary spreadsheets, and looking online, so not specific to my area because I was unable to find anything except for the salary.com estimate which I'm unsure is accurate due to the estimate of general OT compensation. Source: 10 months ago
  • Perfusionist
Check out bls.gov/, glassdoor or salary.com for these types of questions. Source: 10 months ago
  • How to justify a raise
But when you're asking for a raise I would consider it from the companies viewpoint rather than yours. They don't care how inflation has impacted you or that you'd like more money, everyone would. But a more important question is what would it cost to replace you? So if you left they'd have to replace you with the current market rate for your position. I would see what that is, there are a few websites that can... Source: 11 months ago
  • PLEASE tell me Glassdoor and salary.com aren't lying about my potential military-industrial complex salary.
I ETS'ed back in May, and I've been doing the whole "funemployment" thing, but I have financial goals to meet. I was a 92A when I was active, now I'm looking for big-boy pay. I was at a very high op tempo unit, so I'm not afraid of hard work and long hours, so long as I'm making more than $30-fucking-K a year. At first, I was thinking officer because BAH + Salary is around 90K give or take for dependants and duty... Source: 11 months ago
  • Before you start praising the snail too hard 👇
A gaijin dev's average salary according to salary.com and glassdoor is around $100,000 which is BIG money in Hungary. If they can afford to pay their devs this much does that sound like a company that's financially strapped? Source: 11 months ago
  • TSMC needs to hire 4,500 Americans. Its 'brutal' corporate culture is getting in the way
/This is why my state needs a law requiring job sites to post salary info. The position above shared the hourly wage after a 2nd interview and a walkthrough of their offices while emphasizing it was long, hard hours so they were looking for people who wanted training and to grew within the org. Not market rate, not salary.com comparisons, just straight up "What is this state's minimum wage? OK, that's what we will... Source: 11 months ago
  • How does everyone on Reddit make so much money?
Between all the lying that goes on on the interweb, regional differences in the cost of living and pay averages and the fact that you never know who you're actually talking with, it's impossible to gauge what you should be making based on people on Reddit. There are websites that are better for this. Try salary.com and other sites that compile statistics on this type of thing. They may not be perfect but they're... Source: 11 months ago
  • [MPR News] Minneapolis students use 'Rickroll' prank to highlight district computer security flaws
The average Public School Teacher salary in Minneapolis, MN is $60,340 as of May 25, 2023, per salary.com. A quick google search away. Source: 11 months ago
  • Job description provides salary between $90k and $110k but interview manager is flabbergasted when I asked for $100k
Also check out salary.com. In the past I used them to very good effect. They describe jobs in terms of multiple levels (ex: Project Manager I, Project Manager II, Project Manager III, etc.) with detailed breakdowns of roles and responsibilities and years in service for each level. This will help you determine your actual market value in your area, helping your confidence when making your case. Source: 11 months ago
  • RC tweet replied by Pulte. BBBY Big week ahead!!
It's true they do. Ryan Marshall, the CEO of Pulte group makes $14M (according to salary.com - Ryan Marshall pay) And ther's another $45M in stock - but that might have been cumulative. Source: 11 months ago
  • [Kahler] Remember those NFLPA surveys? One direct result of players nearly universally grading their food poorly: at least three NFL teams ADDED salaried food/nutrition staff this off-season (Not replaced).
Staff is out of pocket, but according to salary.com the sports nutritionist salary range is $47k-68k. They could probably even get one for free by partnering with a local hospital or university. Source: 11 months ago
