  • Ask HN: Websites that test and review products for listicles
I use and like https://rtings.com They buy and test the products they review. The reviews show understanding of the product and its application. Less fluff than the wire cutter. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • Which monitor should I get?
Check rtings.com and monitor unboxed on YT, good resources for monitor reviews. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • $2500-3000 Gaming/Video Editing - No Peripherals - Live close to a Microcenter
For the monitor, what kind of resolution are you going for - 1440p, 4K? I'd suggest you browse through the website rtings.com - they do a lot of reviews on monitors, along with "best of..." lists. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Monitor recommendations
Checkout rtings they also have a YouTube channel and pretty much show all the pros and cons of specific monitors. They also have a really good comparison table on their website. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Tv recommendations
Also, I highly recommend following what some others have said and using rtings.com as your guide. Use reddit for more specific questions once you've narrowed your selection down. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Which one of these headset would be the best for a extreme budget (40$ ish) price range?
I would rely on rtings.com for some reference, cause I don't think many people here own any of this. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Looking for a Budget soundbar
This one was well review by rtings.com. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • First time building a PC (switching from Mac) Advice needed please
Start with the monitor, there are better screens for about the same money. Check rtings.com they have plenty reviews. Monitor unboxed on YT does good work too. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Looking for advice or a reference..
My two go to reference sites are rtings.com and soundguys.com , both have somewhat standardized testing/reviewing procedures and provide objective data & measurements. RTINGS in particular is very handy for directly comparing two products, if they're both in their review database. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Please help me buy my first 4K TV
I have found that rtings.com has the best in depth reviews of TV's. Also YouTube has many reviews. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Elite active 8 iOS latency
I'm looking to upgrade my elite active 4's. I saw on rtings.com that the latency of the new active 8's is 176 ms for IOS compared to 38 ms for my current 4's. Does anyone own these and notice any latency on their iPhone? Also, is it worth the upgrade? Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Where to put TV speakers w/Mantel Mount & built-in bookshelves?
I wonder if I will need a sound bar or speakers? I noticed that TV was on rtings.com's list of best sounding TVs. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Slam ASUS TUF VG259QM @ $230, or hold out for a cyber monday deal on the ViewSonic XG2431?
I've been looking at monitors to upgrade to 240hz with for a couple weeks, and I've pretty much narrowed it down to these 2. I'd rather get the xg2431 because of the blurbusters approval and choice for "best budget" gaming monitor on rtings.com, but the TUF looks very similar overall, and I would buy it over the xg2431 for $50 cheaper. There wasn't a black friday deal on the xg2431 from anywhere I could see, but... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Need some help deciding between LG Oled B3 or Lg Oled evo C3? I'm new to Oled
So, I'm looking to buy an Oled TV on Black Friday. I've found the LG Oled B3 (OLED65B36LA) and the LG Oled evo C3 (OLED65C36LC). They are roughly the same price. I've looked at rtings.com and found reviews for both the B3 and C3, but not for the evo version of C3. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Recommendations for 32 inch 4k monitors with a DC lead?
I've spent many hours on rtings.com, Amazon, etc, and nothing seems to fit the bill. All the best monitors appear to be AC only (i.e. Kettle flex), and I don't have the time/skills to open the back up and rewire things...unless someone can tell me how exactly. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • U6H Motion Blur Issues
I purchased a 55in U6H in 2023 and am seeing visual artifacts when there is motion blur on the screen. I have followed the all the calibration setting steps on rtings.com for the U6H, including setting Judder Reduction is to 10 and Blur Reduction to 10. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How are cordless stick vacs compared to something like Bissel 2690? Specifically V8, Jet 60/75, A9, or other devices in $200-$400 range
I see posts/comments in here describing these cordless stick vacs as basically useless, but how are they compared to an ultra cheap vacuum like this Bissel? It's what I've used since college. I'm ready to upgrade now, and a comparison of cordless stick vacs to this Bissel would help me with prioritizing between convenience and performance. I've done deep dives on rtings.com but need some sort of baseline to what I... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Gamer's Nexus equivalent for office laptop reviews?
I'm wondering if there's a YouTube channel that makes in depth reviews like Gamers' Nexus but for office PCs. I was recently looking to see how a 14" MacBook Pro compares with the Dell XPS 13 Plus but the video reviews I found were more feelings based rather than following any methodology. I know rtings.com exists and I've largely based my decision on their verdict but is there any equivalent in terms of video... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Is Hisense U8K 85inch good on sale? People seem very down on hisense
I have been thinking about getting a 85 inch TV for a while, and I saw the Hisense u8K was on sale and was thinking about getting it. I looked at rtings and their review has it rated at 8.5, so I thought I'd go for it. But when I search for it on reddit, people seem to always value a Sony over it, even when the equivalent rating is noticeably lower (for instance, in one case the rating was like 7.8 and people were... • Saved Pictures (png/bmp) have lower color saturation (gamut?) compared to screen.
However, if I simply press prtscn and paste the screenshot, there, in the program it looks the right way, just like what I was capturing. Only when I save it to a file, I lose the color quality (no matter the program, no matter the extention). I use Windows 10 and I have a color profile set in windows setting to the one I was recommended getting, from rtings.com for my monitor (AOC 24G2U/BK). Source: about 2 years ago
  • Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed
I've read the positive reviews on rtings.com and Sound Guys and they seem like a brilliant solution (considering the dongle) for work (on a laptop) and my own personal laptop, for gaming, productivity and Teams calls. Source: about 2 years ago
