Forget the assholes on the thread. Get on rightmove.co.uk and https://www.athomeinedinburgh.co.uk/ at bare minimum. you will need an individual available within edinburgh to act as your representative as flat viewings are 100% required. Likely you will all need to be in tight communication around the time of your arranged viewings as often it's a literal race to sign agreements at the agency office if they... Source: 10 months ago
- Renting in the UK is very difficult right now. There are far more tenants looking than available places, which means prices are high and competition very large. You may struggle due to your lack of history in the UK, which may mean you have to provide a guarantor (someone who promises to pay your rent if you stop paying) and/or pay 6-12 months of rent up-front. If you are looking for a vacant property to rent... Source: 10 months ago
Housing take a look at https://espc.com http://rightmove.co.uk etc to see what's in the areas around the country. Give you an idea on price to size etc. Source: 11 months ago
Look for house prices on rightmove.co.uk or zoopla.co.uk . Look at the price - you need 10% of the price as a deposit. Take the remaing 90% of the value and divide by 4, or 4.5 .. that's the salary you'll need to get a mortgage to cover that much money. Roughly. Source: 11 months ago
I am currently stationed at Mildenhall, and I came with three dogs during covid; just look on rightmove.co.uk and search for pets considered. Usually, the dogs will need to be approved, but we didn't have any issues. Source: 12 months ago
Use rightmove.co.uk to scope out homes in some of the places already listed. Source: about 1 year ago
Have you checked rightmove.co.uk for rent? Maybe closer to 900 unless you are planning on sharing in a bad area. Source: about 1 year ago
Use these two sites when looking for properties, either to buy or rent: rightmove.co.uk or zoopla.co.uk. Source: about 1 year ago
We have rightmove.co.uk so we're very much aware that one could buy a penthouse in Dundee for the cost of a 20% deposit here in London. Source: about 1 year ago
You can look at rightmove.co.uk for rent prices and different areas but yeah, you'd be able to live fine on £24k a year. I think on that I'd probably share with someone but I do go out a lot etc. Source: about 1 year ago
The next day someone arrived to put up the sign outside. We had photos taken 2 days later and within the week we were live on daft, myhome, rightmove.co.uk, property.ie - 6 sites in total. Source: about 1 year ago
I never used homes.co.nz but a quick scan suggests that you may be after rightmove.co.uk. Source: over 1 year ago
You can try places like https://s1homes.com, https://rightmove.co.uk and https://zoopla.co.uk but I am not going to lie, finding a place that allows pets will be very difficult in the city. Most major letting agents will flat out refuse any pets, so you best bet is smaller agent (e.g. Western Lettings) and contacting landlords direct. Source: over 1 year ago
Find an employer that is willing to sponsor you and I would also look on https://www.reed.co.uk/ for ideas of salaries in your specified area so you know what your rough monthly income would be Then chuck the salary in to this Https://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php Use tax code 1257L and this will give you your post tax/National insurance gross take home roughly. Https://rightmove.co.uk/ for current... Source: over 1 year ago
It's a mixture across the UK and that includes in Stockport - some people live in houses, some people live in houses divided into flats, some people live in blocks of flats (and some people live in other setups like caravans, house boats etc etc). If you pay a high price for a place in a block of flats, it might include a concierge/security service; it really just depends on each place. Some areas/streets are... Source: over 1 year ago
Once you have a budget (your budget should be available cash (minus any you want to keep back for fees or a post sale safety net) + 4.5x your yearly pre tax salary), you will want to start searching the market and do viewings. 99% of houses are advertised on rightmove.co.uk and zoopla.co.uk. You may also want to sign up for some Estate Agent's mailing lists as they will sometimes send out details a day or two... Source: over 1 year ago
These prices look pretty accurate to me. You can get a 1 or 2 bedroom flat from 3k upwards, but if you want a garden you're going to be paying much more. Have a look at sites like rightmove.co.uk for options. Keep in mind that conditions in UK are deteriorating fast. You'll be paying premium prices for everything. Make sure your company healthcare covers pre-existing conditions and dental, as the NHS is on... Source: over 1 year ago
I have friends who live in the UK. One is in the outskirts of Middlesbrough, and he linked me to a website (rightmove.co.uk) that posts apartments for rent, and the area he linked was in Redcar. Source: almost 2 years ago

Try to live off base if you can and look at rightmove.co.uk before you get there to see what's available in some of the towns listed. Cambridge, Red Lodge, Bury is where a lot of people lived. Every thing is 220 and the base will give you a couple of transformers. Homes are generally smaller than US homes so if you see a place listed as a 3-bedroom. It's really a 2-bedroom and a closet. My home was a... Source: almost 2 years ago
I've been into one of the studio flats in the Dandara Stoneywood development, and they're nice, clean and modern, but quite small for the cost. Also fairly heartless, in that it's a big set of apartment blocks and they all look the same. For your budget you could get a very decent one bedroom in a nice area close to town. Rosemount/west end are nice areas. Check rightmove.co.uk and aspc.co.uk . Source: almost 2 years ago
