Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Remote.com and what they use it for.
  • How do I hire and pay EU developers?
Some options include payment through a system like remote.com, direct payment of the whole gross salary to employee's private account (employee would pay their personal tax - not sure if possible in all countries) or the employee can register a company (usually he/she would be the only employee) and you would do a B2B payment of the gross salary to their business account. • Has anyone successfully had a visa approved via Remote.com in Spain (probably via highly skilled worker visa)
I'm currently exploring visa options to live and work in Spain. One option I have is via a new job, the company in question has no legal entity in Spain and instead uses Remote.com but my lawyer has some reservations about this kind of umbrella arrangement being accepted by immigration. • Remote Debuts New Platform to Power Global-First Business Growth

  • Problem with Thailand EoRs for Devs? How did you resolve it ?
Is this the rule or are there EORs that work with flat fees in Thailand? An example of that would be something like remote.com where you pay around 600 USD per month for their services. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • How hard it is to get an IT job in a foreign country?
It's essentially more like running a business and less like being an employee. Unless you're hired as an employee through something like remote.com, then you do have a safety net and they have to comply with various stuff. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Why are you moving to Sweden?
Convince the client to pay you through a PEO like remote.com or oysterhr.com. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Working remote AU job from NZ
Generally they need to have a presence in NZ for tax purposes, use an Employee of Record service like remote.com, or you become a contractor for them/self-employed. Source: about 3 years ago
  • EUR vs. SEK compensation
True. I'm not familiar with collective agreements and such in Sweden. Btw, I'm still technically employed by a Swedish company, since everything is processed through https://remote.com/. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Remote employment via Remote.com/WorkMotion and Blue Card
Not on a VISA since I'm a EU citizen, but if it helps I've been working for a US company for 6 months already via remote.com and it's very legit. Source: about 3 years ago
  • If someone works using an umbrella company (eg: remote.com), how does the advertisement procedure work?
I may take a job offer from a Canadian company, but that company doesnot have any office in Sweden. I am thinking of using remote.com or Deel, but I am not clear about the advertisement regulation. My job has to have an ad on arbetsfรถrmedlingen. How does it work with umbrella company? • Currently In Lanzarote, struggling to realise why I donโ€™t work remote from here.
It doesn't have to be. Spend a day less than 6 months there and just pay Irish tax, spend longer there and your employer could use something like remote.com to take care of the complexity. Downside is that the employer could also use remote.com to hire your replacement in a really low cost country. Source: about 3 years ago
  • My "IndieFI" plan in Germany โ€” looking for advice
How did you get your jobs, do you work for remote.com or did they hire you as an intermediary to work for another company? Source: about 3 years ago

  • Swedish AB
As for employing people in the US, that may be difficult. You would have to go either the contract route, or through a service like https://remote.com/ unless you want to start a company in the US as well. I'm not sure if you would need to also register it in the state you want to hire people in, or if the default of Delaware works, which can be even more of a hassle. Source: about 3 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of Remote.com

Remote.com is recognized as a dynamic player in the HR and payroll management space, catering to the needs of globally distributed workforces. Its portfolio encompasses a range of solutions, including employer of record (EoR) services, global payroll management, contractor payments, and more. These offerings are tailored for companies looking to hire, pay, and manage international employees and contractors across 180+ countries.

Public opinion suggests that Remote.com is a versatile platform renowned for simplifying the complexities associated with global employment. By offering a comprehensive suite of HR solutions, it enables seamless payroll management, compliance, and global hiring processes. This positions Remote.com favorably as it supports entities without local legal structures to tap into global talent seamlessly. The platform is particularly noted for its innovative approach, such as the introduction of the "Remote Global Payroll" in 2023, which enhances the payroll management experience by offering features like entity and team management, payroll calculation reviews, and streamlined documentation processes.

User experiences reflected in conversations emphasize Remote.com's attractiveness for organizations lacking local subsidiaries or legal entities, allowing them to circumvent extensive bureaucratic hurdles. However, legal nuances, particularly concerning immigration and employment law compliance in specific jurisdictions, such as Spain, are underscored as potential complexities. This highlights the importance of legal due diligence when utilizing EoR services in various regions.

In terms of market positioning, Remote.com competes with notable players such as Deel, Papaya Global, and Rippling, among others. It is often cited as a tool for European employment management, providing mechanisms to hire and pay EU developers while ensuring tax compliance across borders. Despite facing competition from other platforms, Remote.com's integrated solutions for handling complex employment scenarios and paperwork gives it a competitive edge.

Feedback from various professionals reveals that Remote.com is utilized heavily by those seeking remote job opportunities, offering a flexible alternative for individuals who wish to work across borders, especially when local employment is logistically challenging, such as individuals wishing to work remotely in high-cost or legally intricate jurisdictions like Sweden or Australia.

Overall, public sentiment towards Remote.com expresses confidence in its comprehensive capability to manage global HR needs efficiently, although legal complexities and regional compliance still pose challenges that necessitate careful navigation. As businesses increasingly embrace remote work, Remote.comโ€™s role in facilitating this transition appears to be both positively perceived and crucially necessary for companies striving to access a global talent pool.
