I don’t know if it technically counts, but I use https://radiooooo.com. Source: 5 months ago
Check out Radiooooo it’s like pandora but you choose a country, a decade, and a vibe (slow/fast/weird). Source: 10 months ago
Oh wait, there’s another app for that called radioooo you can select a country and a decade. I’d try Nigeria in the 80’s, Zaire in the 70’s and 80’s and Ghana around then too. Oh and South Africa as well, though that will be more horns and electrics. Source: 10 months ago
Hey y'all, I usually dig around for random obscure stuff in second hand record stores, but recently have been using radiooooo.com to give me a random track from a country and decade of my choice. it's awesome so far and I've found some really cool stuff, but I was wondering if there are any other services or apps people in here use to find obscure music. In the same spirit you have radiooooo where you can chose a country + a time period and you get a nice playlist. I've Discovered Amazing song on it. Source: about 1 year ago
I think it was in 2015 when I was 14. While I was watching Vsauce Michael showed this cool site called radiooooo.com So I started listening to Japan's 70s and 80s radio when suddenly Behind The Mask started playing and I immediately become obsessed with YMO. It had such an effect on me. It was instant and powerful. I hadn't heard anything like it before. Was it the melody or the unique sound? It gave me goosebumps... Source: about 1 year ago

A good place to explore this sort of thing (songs from a given country and decade) is https://radiooooo.com. Source: about 1 year ago
I remeber seeing this on Tik Tok. It's quite literally a radio time machine where you can listen to a random song from any time period in any country and this can be FIRE for chopping up or taking samples from, or even inspiration. Just using the material for different genres. Just remember to be responsible and for the more 2010s samples, try to abide by copyright if your gonna sample from the tracks 👍🏿. I really like radiooooo.com I don't think you'll get a lot of classical/traditional music listening through their listings, but it is a good way of hearing what popular music sounded like across there globe for the last 50-60 years. Source: about 1 year ago
Radiooooo for historical radio from different countries. Source: over 1 year ago
I recently visited this website where you click on any country on the map and it plays a song from that era with respect to the decade. Just for fun I picked 1900 and clicked on AZ but nothing was playing for some reason.. Go figure. Pick up a book that wasn't sponsored by your government for a change. Do better. Oh and here's the website: https://radiooooo.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
I have an amateur interest in music and data visualisation and came across two cool Web apps recently -- https://radiooooo.com/ which basically lets you time-travel through international radio stations and https://www.openculture.com/2020/03/linked-jazz.html, which explores the degrees of separation between major jazz musicians in history. I noticed that a MAJOR downside of Linked Jazz is that you can't play any... Source: over 1 year ago

I took a language class with a large number of immigrants. Over the course of the semester, I'd ask each student about their favorite music from their home country. It's been fantastic. I've learned about whole genres of music, and expanded my listening horizons considerably. One good tool that replicates this process a bit is https://radiooooo.com where you can listen to typical playlists from countries and even... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
