Look into put.io torrent aggregator, you have to pay but your isp will never know what you torrent or watch. It is a genuinely great service. Source: over 2 years ago
Small note: maybe you might be tempted to reply that WebDAV is not the way to go and that I should use rClone to access my put.io content from Plex. Please know I've tried before, and it did not meet my needs. Additionnally, it fucked up my NAS to a point where I had to completely reset it (hopefully all that was important was properly backed up, but it was so painful and long to restore everything as it was to... I use Infuse together with https://put.io/ over WebDAV paired with https://chill.institute/ It basically gives me Netflix for all the content in the world, would recommend! Put.io does instant downloads if anyone else on the service has ever downloaded the content, which is basically always the case for me. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
I dont remember how I did it but on old computer, on chrome, if I clicked a magnet link, it would do some stuff in the address bar and it got sent straight to put.io adder and added it to download que. Source: almost 3 years ago

I agree, they should include seeding when downloading something from debrid. Maybe something like put.io. On the other hand, the costs would rise and debrid wouldn't be as attractive to many. Source: over 3 years ago
But they block some user agents (of the client). So I need to know how put.io shows up as a client. Source: over 3 years ago
Since a few days I can't use one private tracker any more. I am searching with the admin of this tracker for a reason. Perhaps the client put.io uses is banned. Source: over 3 years ago

But tbh... there's an alternative that seems (maybe more) promising.. Use Krantor for sonarr torrent/magnet tossing to put.io. Then for downloading back locally, either use a putio folder rss feed + synology Download Station _or_ some rclone setup. Source: over 3 years ago
SonarrPutio, in addition to populating a put.io folder with a whatever torrents sonarr finds, it also downloads those files locally to let Sonarr then move them to where they belong. Source: over 3 years ago

I have no prior context of put.io but judging by its frontpage, it seems to be a seedbox. Seedboxes are services that download things (usually torrents) for you. So any other seedbox should serve as an okay alternative. Source: over 3 years ago

Based on recent discussions and mentions, Put.io is viewed as a unique and premium offering in the realm of cloud storage, file sharing, and seedbox hosting. It is frequently compared with alternatives such as Real-Debrid, Seedr, Bitport.io, and others, though it distinguishes itself as a paid service with a robust feature set.
Key Strengths:
Privacy and Security: A significant portion of user feedback highlights Put.io's role in safeguarding user privacy, particularly in relation to torrenting activities. The service operates as a torrent aggregator, which means it manages torrent downloads on behalf of users, minimizing exposure and reducing the need for VPNs. This feature is appealing to those concerned about ISPs monitoring their downloading habits, as Put.io ensures that torrent activities are discreet and less traceable.
Performance and Convenience: Many users appreciate the convenience of instant file availability. Put.io leverages prior downloads by others to provide rapid access to content. This is seen as a "magic" feature, especially for those who frequently download large files. Users have noted that the service saves significant time compared to traditional torrent clients.
Versatile Integration: Put.io's compatibility with other platforms like Plex and tools like WebDAV and rClone is noteworthy. Despite some challenges in setup, users mention its capability to enhance media server functionality by facilitating easy access to diverse content without relying on local storage.
Premium Experience: As a premium service, Put.io requires a monetary commitment, yet many users find its breadth, security features, and ease of use worth the investment. Its positioning as a higher-end solution attracts customers serious about file management and media consumption.
Areas for Improvement:
Speed Limitations: While the service typically offers high performance, some users have expressed dissatisfaction with the download speed cap set at 20MB/s. This is a concern for those expecting limitless high-speed access, especially given the service's premium pricing.
Technology Integration: Not all integration attempts are flawless. There have been mentions of specific challenges, such as using rClone. Some users faced technical difficulties that led to broader disruptions, indicating that there could be improvements in user guidance and technical support for integration with certain software and devices.
Platform Issues: The lack of updates and perceived shortcomings in certain apps, like those for AndroidTV/GoogleTV, suggest that the platform could benefit from more frequent updates and refinements to maintain its competitive edge and user satisfaction.
Community and Support: The presence of service representatives in discussions demonstrates a willingness to engage, yet known issues persist. Improved customer engagement and support might be beneficial, especially around troubleshooting and optimizing the user experience.
In summary, Put.io stands out as a robust solution for those seeking a versatile and secure file sharing service. Despite its premium cost and occasional technical hitches, it remains a favorable choice due to its convenience, privacy assurances, and varied integrations, consistently meeting the needs of an audience looking for high-quality file management and media access.
