  • Conservatives are unintelligent sheep masquerading as humans.
If you want to see what diseases are emerging today and where, and speculate on how they might get into an airport and travel around the world and fuck everything up way worse than COVID did, go here: https://promedmail.org/ . You can click on "hot topics." Mpox and yellow fever at the moment. Source: about 1 year ago
  • The text I wanted to right for the post about Marburg virus
Try looking on promedmail.org by the International Society for Infectious Diseases and you'll see that most days have several reported outbreaks. Most don't go anywhere, but all start somewhere with a few reported cases. I can't click on the specific outbreaks to read on them when I'm on my phone for some reason, but hopefully it works for others on their phones. Source: about 1 year ago
  • a single centralized RSS feed with real time alerts for disasters, outbreaks, major political & financial events to be one step ahead in being prepared?
You might consider adding Promed-Mail . I learned of a SARS-like virus in Asia (read COVID-19) in December 2019 well ahead of any media announcement about COVID. I was able to disuade my daughter from travelling to southeast Asia on that basis. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Monkeypox anxiety: thoughts on hostel dorm with shared bath vs hotel?
Close to 99% of cases in Europe and US are men who have sex with men. See https://promedmail.org/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Polio is back: Virus detected in London sewage samples, health officials say
Check out the CDC's info on the vaccine here (scroll down). I also recommend this site for updates and info about infectious disease. They do regular updates on polio, and the wild type has been cropping up in places where it hadn't been seen in decades, so there's definitely cause for concern. Source: about 2 years ago
  • At least 89 killed by mystery disease as WHO deploys task force amid fears of outbreak | The ministry of health in South Sudan has reported fast-spreading illness in the northern town of Fangak, in the Jonglei state, which local scientists haven’t been able to identify.
There’s nothing showing up in ProMed-Mail (https://promedmail.org/), which is a really good source for all infectious disease outbreaks, no matter how small. Nothing is being reported out of South Sudan, so I would wait and recheck the link before worrying about another outbreak. Source: over 2 years ago
  • ULPT Request: What are some pro-vax email blasts that I can signup an antivaxxer to annoy them?
Https://promedmail.org is an infectious disease email list serve. They are not vaccine focused but they are great and global health heavy. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • It's time for Reddit--and everyone else--to stop the COVID misinformation.
The Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases, (ProMED), an internet service from the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) to identify unusual health events related to emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • True story
Watching Youtube videos or reading pseudoscientific articles is not doing research. If you have published a paper, I will gladly take a look at it. If you have done deep research, you must have seen this study and used resources like this and this, or even this where actual peer reviewed studies are published proving the safety and efficacy of vaccines.
