On the medical side, the website whattoexpect.com has a tonne of information. For a more varied perspective you can also look at subreddits babybumps, parenting, daddit, mommit for an idea of some of the challenges you may face during and after. If you can't take the medicine during pregnancy you probably also won't be able to breastfeed safely so that will be something to consider - I can go into that more if you... Source: over 1 year ago
My favorite resources were whattoexpect.com and the Dr's Bjorkman youtube channel. Week by week and month by month advice and information from pregnancy thru the first year. Source: over 1 year ago
My favorite resources are the Dr's Bjorkman channel on youtube. They are an OBGYN and pediatric cardiologist couple that make videos about pregnancy and child care that are super helpful. The other great one is whattoexpect.com . Showing her that you are researching and learning is only going to make her feel more secure. Source: over 1 year ago
Pregnancy is super overwhelming, so please don't feel bad about not knowing all of this! I've really enjoyed the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book and website (whattoexpect.com). Signing up for their daily newsletter has been helpful in showing me things like what symptoms I can expect, what's going on with baby's development, etc. Source: over 1 year ago
Is whattoexpect.com being disingenuous in this article when they use the term baby? https://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/week-by-week/week-28.aspx. Source: over 1 year ago
I love What To Expect! I use whattoexpect.com and they have an app. I like it because all the medical info was accurate for my first pregnancy every time I discussed things I learned there with my doctors. Makes me feel like I can really trust the info. Plus, their content covers pretty much every pregnancy-related topic, so it's an easy go-to. Source: about 2 years ago
I think what you're experiencing is normal. The good news is that there are lots of resources available to help you get yourself prepared. There are many books (ask for recommendations to help you narrow down the options), many hospitals offer classes on labor & delivery and newborn care, and your medical practitioner's office should have booklets or other info available to help you educate yourself. There's also... Source: over 2 years ago
I have seen a ton of conflicting information online. Some sources say it's the beginning of week 13 (such as my WebMD pregnancy app) while others (like whattoexpect.com) say the second trimester starts at the beginning of week 14. I checked the booklet my OB office gave me but it doesn't specify. Source: over 2 years ago
You can find the two lists referenced at whattoexpect.com (boys and girls) They are based on the Social Security Administration's data for 2020. Source: over 2 years ago
