• Maybe easy maybe hard maybe impossible?

  I am not sure I have been reading up on qbittorent proxy in just the last few minutes and it looks like I would have to pay for a proxy server then have all requests sent to that proxy server in which would then send them to my qbittorent? Am I in the general ballpark as to how to make this work? If so I may just keep doing everything manually like I have been doing for years until I get the nerve to try all this....   I'm pretty confused about what the missing link is here. Usually it works fine on LAN, but sometimes is marked as indirect or insecure. The mobile app seems to work on WAN, but not usually plex.tv. Can anyone help me understand how plex networking works? Thanks! Source: over 1 year ago

• Download media option is available on android app but not in the web app

  I am perplexed here. When I am using the android client, I am able to select a movie and download it. When I use plex.tv in a browser on desktop, the download option is missing. Source: over 1 year ago

• If I only intend to view my videos in my PleX library while on my Wifi, do I need remote access setup?

  Plex clients need Internet access for login purposes. When you login on a Plex app (smart tv, mobile, etc), it authenticates via a system at plex.tv. If it cannot reach that system, the client cannot login. Source: over 1 year ago

• Has anyone tried side loading the SONOS app on Android TV.

  I am running plex.tv on a Nvida Netshield TV Pro with Sonos speakers. The Netshield TV pro has Android TV with Chromecast 4K built-in. Sonos isn't an available app from the Google Store but peeps have said you can side load non-supported apps (with caveats). • Yet another Remote access/VPN question

  Hey guys! I'm struggling with getting my plex accessible via remote access (solely for casting to sonos which seems to require access via plex.tv). • Can I prevent the server owner account from showing up in the Switch User / Login page?

  Logging in as this "OnlineAccount1" on plex.tv would have required 2FA, and is something I would essentially never do from an HTPC or other viewing device. I manage the Plex Media Server from the console of the actual media server machine. Nor is management of the Plex Media Server something I want exposed to other view-only users, including my own view-only user account ("OnlineAccount2"). Source: over 1 year ago

• WD PR4100 Plex died

  I have been using my WD PR4100 for about a year and it's been great. Yesterday I found I couldn't connect to it. So I went on the web interface for the NAS and into the apps section and tried to configure plex from in there. If I click the configure button it opens a new window and says it cant connect to plex. I have tried rebooting the NAS, I have tried uninstalling Plex and reinstalling it from the WD app... Source: over 1 year ago

  I've woken up this morning to a very odd issue. I can access plex remotely via the plex app. I can access plex on my local network via the IP address. However if I try to connect on my local network via plex.tv it tells me there is no secure connection and it can't reach it. Source: over 1 year ago

• Channel icons not showing up consistently

  Currently, I'm at work, connecting to my server remotely — but directly, using a direct connection through dyndns — and the channel icons aren't visible in my EPG. (Channel icons don't show up when connecting through plex.tv, either.) This is only happening when using a browser to connect - when I use the Windows Plex HTPC app, the icons show up - although nothing will play, but that's another matter. Source: almost 2 years ago

• Login issues with Direct IPv6 Access to Web app ("We were unable to complete the request...")

  Im trying to access my local plex server (CGNAT ipv4 + public ipv6) using the public ipv6 url http://[ipv6]:32400. The plex splash screen redirects me to app.plex.tv/auth/ where I get the message: "We were unable to complete this request. You will be redirected automatically." and shortly after I get redirected to plex.tv. Source: almost 2 years ago
