  • Ask HN: What low code platforms are worth using?
As a "no-code sales person," I actually agree. It's why we started on https://plasmic.app, to bridge the gap between low-code and code—we think there can exist low-code tools that integrate deeply with existing code and codebases, to allow scaling in complexity. A very nice effect of this is cross-functional collaboration—once it's possible for the team's developers to provide the right components as building... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Ask HN: What low code platforms are worth using?
Https://plasmic.app is a soon-open-source visual builder that (uniquely) integrates with codebases. (I work on this!) So you can build within existing apps and use your own arbitrarily complex React components. This is what makes it suitable for complex production projects, because (as many others note) you'll invariably hit ceilings with typical low-code tools. It focuses on both websites and applications, so it... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Ask HN: A no-code framework – do you think it's a good idea?
That sounds like Plasmic: https://plasmic.app You register React components as building blocks, and compose them together into websites and web apps. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • Plasmic - forms - MongoDB ??
Anyone here familiar with Plasmic (plasmic.app) for building, and using it to collect form data from the page? It seems like there is either a very simple way to create an html form that I can't see how to route to a database, or I will have to create custom React components to add to their store and use, which ... I have no experience with, and don't need to spend 20 hours learning when this should be simple. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is there any viable alternative to Webflow for use in the EU?
You can take a look at plasmic (https://plasmic.app). For simple landing and portfolio pages it's very straightforeward. You can do any complexity with it but I'm more of a designer too and just starting with the program... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is there a need for No Code backend solutions?

  • Been working for 2 years on Plasmic, a visual builder for React, Vue, Angular, HTML. Create beautiful, optimized experiences, and bring your own components. Speed up your dev time, or enable content editors/designers to publish without further requests on developers.
(Just having fun dipping toes into video editing :) Plasmic (GitHub, website) started with wanting to build a dream web design tool, but one that connects deeply with code. What makes it interesting is that you can trivially bring any custom code components and effectively extend Plasmic’s functionality with things like data, interactions, effects, etc. That aren’t built-in. This make it feel “hackable” and lets... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Static site generators for clients - how do they easily publish/deploy? I sure don't want to do it every time.
Beyond that, there are several static site generators to look at depending on what you need. Eleventy is an interesting one, but can require a bit more "dev" time. Docusaurus is another great one we use for docs and blog sites, easy to use and allows you to develop custom React controls. One that we are currently shifting towards trying helps cover both static and CMS in a single flow, plasmic.app. Really... Source: over 2 years ago

  • Ask HN: Have you found an easy way to export designs/Webflow pages to React?
Https://plasmic.app is a web design tool that was designed to export to React continuously, and it imports from Figma. Would that help? (I work on this). - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
