• Follower & post count of accounts on other instances not syncing?

  I'm on pixey.org instance and when I view @dansup@pixelfed.social from my instance, I see that he only has 41 followers and 75 posts but when I see his profile on pixelfed.social instance via incognito, I see that he has 10k followers and 556 posts (as of 11 July, 2023). Source: 9 months ago

  Pixelfed is a image-oriented platform on the ‘fediverse’ similar to instagram but distributed among many servers. https://pixelfed.social being the original and the largest instance. I’m keeping my eye on this to see if gains traction with lots of people moving off Twitter this past few months. Source: 12 months ago

  Pixelfed is much simpler, but it's focus is on image sharing. If you website is primarily about pictures, then this could work. But if your content is primarily text first, this might not be a good option. Source: about 1 year ago

• How's all the instance owner/admins doing with federating/interacting with everyone else? Mine looks like scarce to nothing.

  I've also have a pixelfed.social account for the hell of it. Obviously it's ran by the pixelfed creator/developer, so it'll all be configured properly. With it I've been able to search & view accounts on pretty much all the other pixelfed instances all over the place. The global timeline is filled with accounts from outside pixelfed.social.   You can always type "pixelfed.social" into your instances search bar. Follow a couple folks or favorite a couple posts and that instance is now "known" by yours and you'll start seeing posts from "pixelfed.social" in your federated timeline. Source: over 1 year ago

  Indeed - once you follow the Mastadon account, pixelfed.social becomes aware of that profile so new content will be sent over but not historical content. Source: over 1 year ago

• Having problems with pixelfed.social

  I started using PixelFed today and joined pixelfed.social. Almost every post seems to not be displaying properly. They're all blurred in the list view, and it says "No Preview Available". I read a post from a few days ago that said the server might be struggling with an influx of users. Is this still happening for other people or is it just me? Should I join a different instance?
