Many aviation management tools are built for flight schools, with instructors, syllabi and student records that a partnership or small club never uses. Pilot-Next deliberately covers only what a shared aircraft needs: scheduling, flight logging, cost allocation, invoicing and maintenance tracking. That means less setup and less admin. Pricing is flat per company, from €0 for a single owner to €45 per month (billed annually) for unlimited aircraft and pilots. A club doesn't pay more as it gains members. Prices are in euros, and European payment methods such as iDEAL are supported. The app works in the browser and installs on a phone, so pilots can book from the airfield.
Flying clubs, aircraft co-ownership groups and small aircraft rental operators: usually one to a handful of aircraft shared by five to a few dozen pilots. The typical buyer is a club treasurer, a partnership administrator or an owner who rents their aircraft to other pilots. They currently handle scheduling and cost splitting with spreadsheets and group chats.
In 2010 the founder of Now-Next became a co-owner of an aircraft and ran into the admin every partnership has: scheduling conflicts, cost splits, invoicing and maintenance tracking. No suitable tool existed, and the group also wanted to rent the aircraft to other pilots, so they built their own system, YouFly. It ran for about 15 years. By the mid-2020s its technology was outdated, and Now-Next, a Dutch SaaS development company, rebuilt it from the ground up as Pilot-Next. It keeps what those years taught about what pilots and clubs actually need, and leaves out everything that only adds admin.
TypeScript throughout; React with Material UI (Material Design 3) and Vite for the web app, installable as a Progressive Web App; NestJS for the API; PostgreSQL with Prisma; Stripe for subscriptions and payments; Puppeteer for PDF invoices, stored on AWS S3; the Model Context Protocol SDK for the AI-assistant integration; Next.js for the marketing site; hosted on Render in Frankfurt.
Pilot-Next runs the whole cycle of a shared aircraft in one place: booking, the flight log, pricing, the invoice and the pilot's account balance. A pilot books in two clicks. After the flight they log Hobbs or Tacho time against that booking, and the flight is priced, invoiced and added to their balance automatically. Nobody has to re-enter anything for billing. Maintenance plans forecast when the next 100-hour, annual or recurring inspection is due. Pilot-Next also has a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server with 17 tools. AI assistants such as Claude can use it to find free slots, book aircraft and settle flights, with the user's own permissions. Pricing is per company, not per seat, and one aircraft with one pilot is free.
