PDFluent Editor is a native desktop application for reading, editing, redacting, and signing PDFs — built for anyone who needs a reliable PDF tool without a subscription, account, or cloud dependency. It runs on macOS 11 or newer and Windows 10 or newer, with download sizes of 34 MB on macOS and 19 MB on Windows. You can also add annotations and fill forms.

Privacy here isn't a toggle you have to find. The application has no account creation, no sign-up screen, and no file upload step. It never contacts a server while you work. There is no telemetry, no cloud processing, and nothing to disable in settings — the software simply runs on your device and stays there.

You might wonder how a free-for-commercial-use editor is sustainable when every other tool charges per seat. The same engine that powers this editor is sold as a commercial SDK to developers. That SDK funds the free editor, not your data or your usage. No hidden upsells, no feature gates.

This is a public beta, so you will encounter rough edges. XFA legacy form rendering is experimental.

Under the hood, the engine is pure Rust across 48 crates with zero C or C++ dependencies. It is the exact same engine that developers license commercially. That consistency is the quality argument: the free editor runs on the same codebase that companies pay for.
