  • Passkey Implementation: Misconceptions, pitfalls and unknown unknowns
Https://passkeys.directory/ indicates that plenty of relying parties have implemented support for passkeys and I’ve yet to hear about any efforts taking 100 sprints (if TFA is to be believed that it’s 100x harder than a single sprint’s worth of work). Indeed a rather lazy exaggeration. - Source: Hacker News / 8 days ago
  • Passkey Implementation: Misconceptions, pitfalls and unknown unknowns
I don't think this is holding empirically, though. https://passkeys.directory/. - Source: Hacker News / 8 days ago
  • A Passwordless Future: Passkeys for Developers
Passkeys are not just for the future, they are here now. You can start using them today. If you are a developer, you can start implementing them in your applications using Auth0. If you are a user, you can start using them on services that support them. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
  • I Stopped Using Passwords. It's Great–and a Total Mess
    ● Passkeys are being supported by major vendors (e.g., as of October 10, 2023, Google announced: Passwordless by default: Make the switch to passkeys, for Gmail users, and Google Workspace administrators can enable it) https://cloudsecurityalliance.org/artifacts/beyond-passwords-the-role-of-passkeys-in-modern-web-security And if you want to quickly check what the passkeys-related capabilities of your preferred... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • I Hate MFA
Agree lots of sites still don’t support passkeys, but we’re getting there slowly but surely. https://passkeys.directory. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • Anyone else bitterly disappointed that 2023.12 release didn't include mobile (iOS / Android) passkey support?
Give it some time, passkeys are not wildly adopted yet. I can only sign in with passkeys on a handful of sites: https://passkeys.directory/. Source: 5 months ago
  • Anyone else bitterly disappointed that 2023.12 release didn't include mobile (iOS / Android) passkey support?
There are literally 11,522 Mastodon instances that offer passkeys as MFA at the moment I am writing this comment. Not yet for sign in, but for MFA. 1 million active users in the last month. Even if you count Mastodon as one website (because, I'll admit, counting every instance is a bit of a cheat), it's a good demonstration that https://passkeys.directory/ is not the definitive list of websites that support... • Why does protonmail require an authenticator app for 2FA?
Of course, no one said it doesn't yet. Even my phone already support it. https://passkeys.directory listed the website that already support passkey. Source: 5 months ago
  • What the % Is a Passkey?
Well, it is supported across all major operating systems and almost all browsers: https://caniuse.com/?search=webauthn Password manager support is optional (though at that point you're using a passkey as a re-authentication method, which is nice but doesn't take advantage of the full potential). That leaves website support. Hopefully more and more web sites will enable it. https://passkeys.directory/ is a list... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Bitwarden: Free, open-source password manager
I hope to be moved over to passkeys before the password manager enshitification begins in earnest. https://passkeys.directory/. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • CIAM for the Single Application
Have you seen passkeys implemented anywhere? I saw it on best buy, and there's this directory https://passkeys.directory/ but I haven't stumbled across it in the wild when signing up or evaluating dev tools (which seems like a likely market with early adopters). I think that passkeys have a problem for initial authentication. Cross platform hardware like Yubikeys cost money and aren't a good fit for the average... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • Hype Will Turn Your Security Key into Junk
This website has a list of sites allegedly supporting passkeys: https://passkeys.directory I say "allegedly", because a few of them (Paypal, eBay, a couple others) have never once offered to let me use a passkey. Sites I know, off the top of my head (because I used them in the past 24 hours): * Porkbun * Google * GitHub (if you enable the preview feature) I know I've used more, but I don't have an easy way of... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • WebAuthn Is Great and It Sucks
If you are looking for a list of sites that support webauthn, this is a decent one: https://passkeys.directory/ (sponsored by 1password). - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Phasing Out Passwords: Apple To Automatically Assign Each User a Passkey
