It opens OTDR trace files in the browser. You drop a file on the page and see the trace, the event table and the loss figures a few seconds later, on Windows, Mac, Linux or a phone. It reads standard .sor files and the native formats of EXFO, VIAVI, Anritsu, Fluke, Yokogawa and other makers, so one tool covers files from different instruments. You can also drop a .zip, .7z or .rar with a whole cable inside and it opens without unpacking. The interface is available in 15 languages.
Most trace viewers are Windows desktop programs made by an instrument vendor for that vendor's own files. OTDR Master needs no installation and is not tied to one brand. The free plan is enough for real work on a single fiber: view and edit the trace, compare up to eight traces on one plot, average a bidirectional pair, check a PON link, save the result as .sor, print a PDF report, and send a colleague a link instead of a file. The paid plan adds what you need for whole cables: summary reports, batch edits, projects, your own report template and Excel export.
Fiber technicians, splicers and contractors who measure links with an OTDR and then have to show the result to someone else. That includes engineers who receive trace files from the field and need to read them without the vendor's software, and people who got a .sor file by email and have nothing to open it with. Most of them work with batches of files, one per fiber, and their real task is handing a finished report to the customer.
The parsing and analysis core is written in Rust and runs on the server. The web client is React and TypeScript.
We started in 2026 with a simple problem: someone sends you a trace file and you can't open it, because the viewer runs only on Windows or only reads files from one brand of instrument. We built a reader that works from a link and kept adding formats as people brought files it could not open yet. Reports came next, because people open this kind of software to hand a document to the customer, and the file is only the raw material. Work with whole cables and projects followed, and that became the paid plan.
