I've had an optonline.net address for like 15 years but when I sign in now from optimum.net, I get "an unexpected error has occurred" and nothing loads. The address at the top shows as @optimum.net which I never used. Old contacts are still there. Source: 11 months ago

The same username and password you have currently is the same login you'll use on the optimum dashboard, and they should ask you to setup security questions and complete the transition process throught there. If your login you had before doesnt work, they should have you a email with a login to use and information on the transition. Rather than do the DIY adjustment in 5 minutes myself (as I had with them at my old address) they wanted me to log in to optimum.net and then access the router settings via their proprietary remote web interface, which just never worked...nothing but "sorry, we can't access your settings" errors. My issue is that I would like to port forward to set up a nas and a vpn service. To do this I went to 192.168.1.1, which redirected me to optimum.net. I signed in with my optimum id (after a simple but long process with customer service) and got the "Sorry, we're having trouble accessing your router settings." error. Source: over 2 years ago

From personal experience I've had to sign in through https://optimum.net, so I don't think you can manage your modem / router through a LAN or WAN IP. In fact, accessing my modem through it's LAN IP just redirects me to optimum's website. Source: over 2 years ago
You have to access it through optimum.net If you are trying to enable Bridge mode you have to call them for it. Source: over 2 years ago
From what I remember, you have to manage it through optimum.net via your account. They don't let you get direct access. You may want to look at getting your own modem/router because you're paying $10 a month to 'rent' theirs. Pays for its elf after ~1.5 years. Source: over 2 years ago
3a) When I sign into my optimum.net account it is showing "Your current plan is Optimum 1 Gig". Source: almost 3 years ago
I work as a Systems Engineer for my employer and I've been with Optimum for my home ISP since December 2020 on their 1 Gig (over coax) internet only plan. Up until last week, I was using their Ubee modem which was getting consistent ~940MbpsDOWN / 50MbpsUP speeds. I DO NOT want to pay $10/month for a modem which I have no control over (GUI modem web-interface on optimum.net has barely any control over any aspect... Source: almost 3 years ago
