Anyway, this title "Opera" has an interview dotted in between the "Acts" of the photobook, so I thought I'd try my hand at translating it. I've scanned the interview pages in greyscale mode, cleaned them up in photoshop, cropped them, and passed them through an online OCR ( I then asked ChatGPT4 to translate the Japanese text. Oh if the test itself is just on paper and not digitized you can take pictures then use to scan all the text off it then bring it over to GPT for a spelling correction after then grade them from there. There's an OCR site I've used before and I just did a quick test with Korean and the characters seem to match decently when I just asked it to extract text. Here it is. I can't remember if it's happened with this one, but online OCR sites tend to get bogged down or limit how much you can do but that site might help. Source: about 1 year ago

I've used a few libraries and I think you're over estimating how good OCR is. Tesseract does a good job for what it is but you should expect quite a lot of false readings. is reasonably priced and I've used them in a couple projects with good success but again expect to have to discard bad readings and perform lots of sanity checks on the data you get.
